QOTD - Add household tips & tell which chores you like/dislike

I hope no one minds a 2nd QOTD but as I was scubbing a pan that FH burned cheese or something onto, I wanted to ask all of you.

The chore I dont mind doing at all would be laundry.

And I cannot stand dusting!

And I would like to add that Orange Clean works wonders on the kitchen cabinets.

I hate doing laundry- mostly because I feel like it is a competition to get to the washers and dryers. I live in a 12 story apt. building, about 150 or so apts.. and there are 5 washers and 4 dryers. ***??

I hate scrubbing the toilet-- before living with FH, I lived alone since right after college. What men do to toilets is GROSS... In my own apt- my 'gentleman caller' I guess always had the decency to not 'splash'.

I HATE doing dishes- which is why I am SOO happy our apt has a dishwaser- my previous apt had none.

Lastly, I HATE going through papers-- I get so much mail-- sometimes it is a bit much. So, there are piles of paper everywhere.

Other than that- I am a chronic 'Windexer and Swiffer-er'. Gets the apt sorta clean in about 20 mins.

I am not the most domestic.

I HATE folding the laundry and matching the socks
with my 2 kids fh and me we go through towels clothes socks so quickly
FH wears like 3 or 4 outfits a day work then gym then after gym then pj's and changes underwear at least 3 times a day
then the kids and towels UGH
the folding is so time consuming and annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

dawn complete works the best at dishes....
just soak for like 10 minutes it wipes away stuck on crap

Or even just use Windex with newspaper -- it is the newspaper that does the trick!
From a cleaning website:
To Clean Windows -- Mix 1 cup white vinegar with 3 cups water. Optional is adding 1/8 cup rubbing alcohol for a brighter shine. Dip scrunched up newspaper into solution, squeeze and clean the window. Wearing rubber gloves will keep the newspaper print off your hands. Dry the window with dry newspaper. Buff with soft cloth or a clean BLACKBOARD ERASER. Always clean windows on an overcast dry to prevent streaking.
OR Mix ½ cup ammonia, ½ cup of white distilled vinegar and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to a bucket of warm water for a perfect window-washing solution.
OR Mix 2 ounces of rubbing alcohol, 2 ounces of ammonia and 12 ounces of water. Add a drop of blue food coloring and mark it clearly to distinguish it from other cleaners. Pour into a spray bottle and use it as you would a purchased spray cleaner.

OK, say you fried some food and you have stuckies all over the pan. You try to clean it but it's stuck...

Fill the pan with about 3 cups of water, squeeze some liquid soap and turn on the heat to high. Let it 'cook' for a few minutes to get it real hot / boiling. Stir the water around and scrape the bottom of the pan, but use something non-scratchy, like a wooden spoon/wooden spatula. Continue to let it boil and scape, eventually it'll all come unstuck and then you can wash it as you regularly would.

Does food shopping count as a household chore? Because I hate that more than anything!!!!!!!

I do the dishes everyday so that doesnt bother me that much.....my trick is to do them right away, dont let them sit!

I hate laundry cause its a waste of time.....

The bathroom is FHs job!

I hate dusting (because I'm VERY allergic to it) but I LOVE to do laundry and vaccum! Dish washing is a heat-of-the-moment kind of thing, I either hate it or love it. When I do dust, I like the smell of those lemon flavored sprays!

I will do anything not to do dishes oh and I hate hate cleaning the cat's litterbox I dont mind dusting and vacuuming

I like doing laundry, cleaning glass, and making the bed

I hate putting the clothes away after the laundry, doing any sort of dishes, and vacuuming...Those are all his jobs.

I hate doing dishes. Thank goodness FH loves it so he does it for us. I don't mind vacuuming, dusting, laundry, I just don't like cleaning in general. It's too time consuming.

I have also found this to be the best way to clean a slow cooker/crockpot. add water and soap and turn on high!
We have way too many animals that make way too much of a mess. The frequency of cleaning them and the floors is what I mind. I like most cleaning when I have the time. I hate feeling rushed and going through the junk mail/magazine piles.

Our deal at home is that I cook so he cleans.

ditto! it's the best deal ever, because i actually enjoy cooking, and now i can do it without a thought to cleaning up

fh is really good about helping with laundry. he'll typically run it to and from the laundry room, and i fold (which i HATE, but hey, i gotta compromise...)

My FH also helps with the laundry but we do it at the laundry mat so he lugs from the car to the place. Also got him on sock detail.... That was a big deal!
