Since we talked about freaks yesterday, I thought today as I'm getting ready to go on the treadmill for about the 400th hour this year, I'm curious how you are (or how you did already) getting ready for your wedding. Did you diet? Did you switch up your fitness routine or start one altogether? Were you blessed to not have to do either?
I have been working out 6 days a week on my own and weight training for 2 days a week with a trainer -- my arms looked 'doughy' as I called it when I bought my dress. I really wanted to firm them up. As far as diet, I've been doing weight watchers and dropped about 20, which is good, but I did have grander goals when I started out!
Now tell me, what did you do?
Happy Friday, ladies :)

Re: QOTD and POLL - Your body and your wedding
I mainly dieted!!! I did some weight watchers, followed by a bit of Jenny Craig. And now that i'm in the last 2 weeks before my wedding... I'm going to switch it up and eat steamed broccoli and chicken with brown rice (thanks to Allegra!!) as much as I can and REALLY watch everything else I eat (what I eat AND portions).
I can't say I didn't exercise... but I definately can say I didn't exercise as much as I should have. I did the 30 day shred for a little while a few months back. I also bought an eliptical that I worked out on a bunch of times. As of lately I just don't have a lot of time for exercise... but I try to work out my arms (Allegra gave me some arm exercise pointers) when I can.
So far as of this morning I have lost a GRAND TOTAL OF 49 POUNDS!!!! AHHH soo close to 50 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to lose more... but I'll take it!!! Last night I was able to wear my 'goal' jeans... though I probably should have waited to lose 2 more pounds for them... but whatever... it felt GREAT to get them over my fat asss!!! Today I am wearing a skirt suit to work that I probably have not worn in at least 4 years!!!!

Re: QOTD and POLL - Your body and your wedding
Throughout our entire engagement i kept going up and down in weight but finally when the 2 month mark hit i knew i had to be strict with myself and cut out soda, beef and pork. I also started drinking a glass of milk at least once a day and this helped me immensely. I didn't weigh myself but my clothes were much looser and my dress was very roomy on me so i guess that worked. I also worked out 4 or 5 days a week.

Going to sound like a brat, but I'm one of the naturally blessed that doesn't have to do anything. I don't diet and don't really work out...I just have a fast metabolism. My insides are probably clogged and unhealthy, so I do need to work on that, but in terms of outwards appearance it has no real affect on me.

Re: QOTD and POLL - Your body and your wedding
I was excersizing, but then I joined a new gym that was supposed to open in August, but still hasn't so right not just diet for me. I've dropped 10 pounds in 2 months on WW, which is great. I am 3 pounds from my goal weight and I am hoping to acheive that and then some more in the next 2 weeks.

Re: QOTD and POLL - Your body and your wedding
I cant say I was blessed to not do anything but I lost my weight long before the engagement and I made a promise to myself that I would just continue to do what I was doing...living my life like I do everyday. IMO why would I want to drop X amount of pounds and look skinny on my wedding day but not look like me and look back on my wedding pics months down the road and be like wow I was so skinny.....
So I just continued to live my life during the wedding process and weighed what I weighed on my wedding day.

Re: QOTD and POLL - Your body and your wedding
I worked with a nutritionist to lean out. I did what is called carb cycling which was very much a pain in the butt but SO worked...i have always eaten healthy and worked out so I really needed to kick it into high gear to see results. I exercised and since then have intensified my training and changed the diet away carb cycling to a maintenance plan. It is so hard! I am so not blessed to be naturally thin...Ali I envy you!

Totally understandable!! For me though.. I was ALWAYS SUPER skinny my whole life!!! In my mid 20's I started packing on the lbs!! So I was trying to get back to the old me!!!

Re: QOTD and POLL - Your body and your wedding
I'm a skinny mini so I'm very fortunate about not having to worry about my diet BUT I have started doing pushups and dips in an attempt to get definition in my arms. I've been doing them every other day or so for a month now and I see no change... I better switch that up to daily!!!!

Thanks Gail!! And Angela!! It's A LOT of hard work!! AND morso consistency!! I think where A LOT of people go wrong is they have ONE bad meal and then instead of snapping back, they continue on the downward spiral. It's inportant that if you do cheat that you just go right back to the diet plan. Cheating every once in a while isn't going to break your diet.... so throw out the rule of... 'well today is already shot, so I might as well go for it'. I definately cheated every now and then... and had events and things to go to where I couldn't be as good as I would like... and def moments of weakness where I just made an impulse decision... but immediately after I went right back to making the right choices!! I think overall that helped me IMMENSELY!!
Sorry Liz!! You tricked me and threw me off!!

I have a cheat day on WW. I have to! I like to go out and party. For me, it's been about finding a balance, like, not being super thin for my wedding, and then yo-yo-ing, but finding a good weight where I'm happy with how I look but I can still MAINTAIN and enjoy life. So I figured what better time? Haha, I'll tell you when I figure it all out! :)
