QOTD: Do opposites attract? Are you and FH opposites?

I was talking to Heather and this conversation came up and thought it would be a good question.

My FH and I have a lot of the same interests and like doing the same things but we are opposites definitely. He is very easy going and doesn't worry about anything and I am the complete opposite. It is a good balance though. He calms me down when I get a bit too anal...lol.

So are you and your FH opposites or pretty similar?

my fh could get excited. here's an example...we've been having trouble with a problem with cablevision. when he's on the phone with them he gets a little excited. i try to tell h im to stay calm.

Kim, that is FH and I EXACTLY. I am the anal worry-wart who obsesses over everything. He's the laid back one. I think he has been a good influence on me- I am much less stressed out. And I am sure my blood pressure is lower!

That is us to a T! I am normally the one to keep things together in our relationship (finances, general household stuff, etc..) I am the hot-headed one where Chris is calmer and a bit more mellow. But we completely balance each other out. And we have found that when I am not capable of being the strong one, my wonderful DH and I can actually switch places without even knowing it and he ends up in charge and taking care of everything.

Although FH is a more positive and optimistic person than I am, I wouldn't consider us opposites. We complement each other well and we are strongly connected.

For the most part I think FH and I are same. Very little are we opposites.

We have common interests, but I am the more outspoken/loud one in the relationship...

Me and my FI complete opposites. I am the clam one he is the one that gets excited. The funny thing is that after being together for so long I have picked up things from his personality and incorporated into my one. While he has done the same. But overall we are total opposites. That is what keeps us going.

We are defintely opposites. He is calm and I am always on the run, I love the beach he prefers a pool. I am a morning person and he is a night owl. The list goes on and on...

I think we have a balance. We are similar in our likes and dislikes. We have the same views on family, finances, even decorating our home was easier because we have similar taste. I pick it out and he agrees...perfect!

We are opposites in many things too and this has been a good thing for the most part. I am louder and more outspoken whereas he is not and I need to get things done NOW and he is more laid back. But it all works.

We are similar but he is laid back and I always need to be doing something but I guess thats why we get along, he keeps me grounded.

We are for the most part similar. Similar thought patterns and humor which I like a lot. Only huge difference is he is very laid back and keeps his cool. I have yet to see him really angry, me on the other hand I can get very hot. He tells me whenever he tells his friends that I am Dominican, they ask 'How is her temper?' The nerve! Its a legit question, but still the nerve.

I think we compliment each other well. We're very similar with many things and we agree on important things (money, religion, sex, values, etc.).

In a few ways we are opposites. I'm definitely more comfortable in groups and speaking in public (the ceremony scares him), and a bit more sociable. I'm a bit more impulsive--he likes to mull things over. And he is more patient than I am generally.

In some respects - yes. I am more talkative, outgoing and will dance in public. LOL.
He is quiet - but when he does say something it's usually hysterical.

We like to do the same things, hobbies, activities, etc...which I come to appreciate more everyday.
LOL...I often tell my FH that I can't wait to have a sleepover party every night when we get married LOL...

My FH is the type where everything has to be perfect and by the book, he is very anal....where I am the type who is very care free and laid back about everything....in that case yes, opposites definitely do attract.

we're Complete Opposites!!!! i think anyone who's ever met us can vouch for that. I need valium, DH needs spark plugs.
but he grounds me, and i add excitement to his life. i think we're similar that we both just like to have fun and ignore the BS/drama, and we have *some* of the same interests (though that comes fromyears of editting ). The funny thing is that DH has the same sense of humor as me.... but he doesnt show it to ANYone else except me So i take the fall for all the craziness
