QOTD- do you have or do you see yourself ever having a same-sex 'crush' (not necessarily sexual)
Original post by JessicaM.
so my fh and his coworkers have a nickname for the husband of a female coworker. they call him 'the man-crush' b.c one of the guys is half in love with the spouse (though he himself is married)
it's not at all a sexual thing- they just have many things in common and he thinks he's 'so cool' I think it's just hilarious and since it's slow, I thought I'd pose the question to you girls.
I know it's weird, but hey, I didn't make it up!

however with that said - i dont think i could ever use the word crush..crush only goes with guys for me
Ditto...I'm def not 'into' girls - I could find someone pretty or beautiful but not attractive in a 'crushing' way...much to the chagrin of my DH who would love nothing more than for the opposite to be true.
Funny side story...we went to Sin City for his 23rd b-day and as a present we got lap dances...he was in heaven...I started talking to the dancer (to break the ice and because I felt bad for her to have to do this...I'm weird, I know) who ended up being really cool and down to Earth...we became 'friends' and spent the night chit chatting about life, love, jobs, careers, etc. The girl that was dancing for my DH (FH at the time) got in on the convo and they spent the night with us 'fake dancing' (so they wouldn't get in trouble) but really just chatting it up with me. His 'fantasy' went down hill and he was pissed that I have to 'befriend' everyone...why can't I bet one of those bitchy girls that doesn't like anyone? Sorry hun!

There's a HUGE difference between men and women in that aspect.
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!
Men get along with other men without intentions of 'longer-term' friendships...ie: a man can go to a bar and sit with any other man there and watch the football game and get along...leave later on the evening and forget having met the man.
Women are 'deeper' than that, can BARELY go to the bathroom by themselves, and when them meet a woman that they don't 'Hate' (b/c she's prettier, smarter, more successful) they want to be with that woman and involve her in a friendship.
I agree about the guys...but also I have to add that I personally don't 'hate' anyone. Actually, I pretty much made it a point to try my best and eradicate the words hate, envy and pride from my vocabulary. Nothing is uglier in my opinion. So I'm one of those annoying people that likes everyone and doesn't get jealous if someone else does better than her. Unless I'm ignoring you, in which case I don't like you.
I'm not the only weirdo, am I?
ETA: This is not a good thing though as most people in turn 'hate' me and think that I'm not genuine because no one can realyl be nice to everyone (I admit, I am the way I am after much work becuase I'm scared of karma! LOL)... How ironic is that?

This entire thread is so hysterical. It reminds me of the scene in Boomerang, where Halle Berry is talking with Eddie Murphy and he says that only women can say that another woman is beautiful and that men can't do that. She tells him, that he's at least seen a man and said to himself that there's a good looking man and he responds 'I remembering seeing Billy D Williams in a movie and thinking he is cool, but I didn't want to git with him!'
Perfect example of what Chris is saying.

I personally feel that everyone... EVERYONE is capable of being bisexual. Some of us are stronger one way or other, but the other part doesn't go away... There are people of either sex that we find ourselves attarcted to in one way or another, but we are capable for having sexual attraction for either sex. other things make the decision for us - choice, for one, social rules, etc. We chose our partners for specific reasons that worked for us. Love is just a smal piece of it. So was physical and sexual attractions.
