I would, if I felt I had a reason to.

Yes, absolutely. I have personally heard some stories and we've all seen stories in the news and when it comes to my child, his safety and needs are the most important thing.

I am not at a sitter stage though. I would not feel comfortable leaving Luke with anyone but my Mother or SIL & BIL.

I honestly would never leave my child with someone that I do not 100% trust. So if I even felt, for one minute, that I had to spy on them, they would NOT be alone with my child regardless as to whether I had real cause or not. Once it was in my head that they might be something 'wrong' they would be out.

Unfortunately, it's those we trust we sometimes need to be most watchful of.

I agree w/ JennRenee. Trusting a person doesn't mean they won't abuse your child, whether it's hired help or a family member or friend.

I would use cameras w/out hesitation!! It makes me sick to my stomach to think that someone would lay a hand on or neglect my child(ren)!!

I would w/o a doubt!! It's a sad, sick world we live in, unfortunately, and you can't trust anybody anymore!

Did anybody see that sick *$#!%# who was beating the crap out of his 11 month old step-son and his stupida$$ white trash wife was defending him and blaming the so-called 'nosy' neighbors!!! Apparently, the neighbor caught him on their video camera and showed the cops, but the biotch said that the neighbor sped up the tape or some such nonense. I was LIVID when I saw that on Fox News the other night! The child was taken away from her, thank God. She was all mad at the neighbor, not the husband!!!! ***????? Your hubby beats the crap out of your baby and you don't care about that????? OOOOOOOOO, it's ******* me off all over again.

I would just never leave my son with someone that I didn't implicitly trust - it's that simple. And, to say that even your family members cannot be trusted - WOW, we must really live in a diseased society!

On a related note: when I was in college, I babysat for two different families all the time. One family was a teacher that taught my brother in grammar school - she knew my family well, and asked my Mom if I would sit for her kids. No problem. She was extremely protective of HER children and I had to be sure to follow her rules b/c her 4 yr old had a big mouth and knew how to use it!

One day, the teacher Mommy had agreed to sit for someone else's infant, w/o realizing that she had another obligation. So, as she's preparing tp leave me with her two kids AND the stranger's child, she's attempting to feed and change the stranger's baby (who is only about 4 months old). SHE PICKED THE BABY UP BY ITS ANKLE and HELD HIM UPSIDE DOWN for a few minutes until I turned around, saw her and YELLED at HER (meanwhile, she's the Mom and I'm the college kid here!). I have never, never forgotten that day! She NEVER called me again to sit for her children - probably b/c she was mortified that I yelled at her for treating the child so poorly. The nerve! I bet the little infant's mother would have been horrified - if I had known who she was, I might have told on the teacher Mom. So sad.

Without a doubt!!!!

My family is really big and we mostly use each other for babysitting. Marks family is big too, so we should be good for babysitting. I am not sure if I would leave my babies with anyone outside the family or an extremly close friend.

DEFINATLY!!

My dad's cousin has her little girl in day care and she can go on line and watch what is going on at the day care because they have a live feed going on. She watches her daughter play, nap, having lunch, snacks, and everything else that goes on. She said its so great to be able to peak at anytime at the live feed.
