QOTD for Thursday

QOTD for Thursday

It's almost Friday

So I have to make this quick before I get back to work...

Is there someone that has totally gone above and beyond in your eyes with helping you with wedding plans or just been so supportive with everything? And/or Is there someone that you wish would be more involved?

The FH and my parents have definitely gone above and beyond with helping and supporting with the everything. Some of my BMs have been of great help as well. Although, I wish my MOH was more involved. She does come with my when I look for dresses and some bridal shows, but sometimes I feel like she should ask if I need any help or ask about upcoming events that I am going to. I always ask her and always feel like I'm bothering her with it... I dunno, I'm sure it will change when we get closer to the date

Hope everyone has a great day while the sun is still out

I have to say everyone has been super helpful - my parents, FH, my BP...even friends who aren't in the wedding. Of course, some are more helpful than others, but I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and interest.

The one person I wish could be more involved is my MOH. She is my younger cousin, who has always been more like a sister to me. But, she lives in Florida. I just wish she could be here to go with me to places and things like that. But she helps as much as she can!

i would say my mom and fh's mom both are very excited and are supportive. my mom always wants to be involved in everything.

someone who i wish was more involved is my moh. in the beginning she would always say how she can't wait to help with stuff, look for dresses, come to vendor appts with me, etc. so far she hasn't done anything wedding related with me and i've asked her a bunch of times. so that's kind of disappointing.

actually so far my friend Michelle (mom of my FGs) has been very supportive and helpful, wants to hear weddign plans and also wants to go dres shopping with me.

As for who i wish was more involved- my middle sister. she lives near me and i asked her to come to the first place i was going to for bridal gowns and I got 'sorry i am busy' it's always her boyfriend or something

My uncle has been the most supportive and helpful as soon as he found out I was engaged the first thing out of his month was I need to start saving to help you with the weddings. He has been a such a great help.

Secondly my aunt. My mother lives in FL so my aunt has been the one go to all my appt with me. I feel bad sometimes dragging her to the samething but she does not mind.

um unfortunately I haven't really had anybody that has been super helpful, I always get the response of, 'oh well it is soo far away, you can wait for that'....it just gets me even more pissed oh well at least I only have myself to blame if something doesn't go right since I am the one doing everything...

hmm I would have to say my dad actually. He has totally surprised me with how involved he is. He is always asking questions ( maybe because its his $ im spending lol) and has come with me to multiple band showcases when I had no one else to go with me. My Mom has been pretty good also. and FH parents have helped too. we try to include all of them in final decisions and ask their input in everything sometimes they are like its you wedding whatever you want but for the posy part they have been helpful

We've only been engaged a little over a month so we haven't had too much help with anything yet... BUT FH's family has already told us they would pay for the whole reception which I def wasn't expecting and without that we'd be paying our wedding off foreverrrr.

For sure my parents but really my mom has been the biggest help.

My mom is the biggest help. She is so cute. She will call me from a store in MI and tell me she found such and such on sale and ask me if want it.

I have to admit this post is upsetting for me. . . I really feel very alone in this process and I STILL feel like I am bothering the most important people in my life with wedding plans.

Re: QOTD for Thursday

My mom has been super helpful. Often times we would fight over things, so I was worried about the wedding planning process. We also have very different tastes and we are both very opinionated; I assumed we were doomed! She has been AMAZING. Even when I know she doesn't like something, she is 100% behind me.

As for who I wish could be more involved, there are two people and I love them both dearly. My MOH is pregnant, and lives 5 hours away! I wish she could be around, and I am certain she shares those sentiments. The other is my friend who I asked to be in the BP and she said she couldn't because she was really tight with money. I always wish I had offered to pay for her dress, but I was worried she would feel uncomfortable with me making that offer.

everyone has been really supportive and excited about our wedding. i guess the most would be my mom and my MOH have been really amazing. they are always up to talk wedding with me.

i guess the least supportive have been a couple of my BMs. the two of them live far away so i understand that they wouldn't be as involved.

Re: QOTD for Thursday

My wedding plans have been coming along slowly. I do what I can but I'm having a hard time getting excited b/c everyone in my world is pretty much beyond this point and with families already. Everyone is vey excited but their time is Very limited. But I really wish my mother had more time. She's ALWAYS so busy with her 2-3 part-time jobs (mind you she works b/c she wants to), dealing with other peoples issues, on a one woman mission to change the world , redecorating something in her house and spares 20-30min MAYBE to meet me somewhere. And I have to then listen to her tell me how busy she is and how annoyed she is about this that and the other thing! Its very frustrating and sometimes upsetting b/c she wasnt as busy with life back when my sisters got married 5 & 10 yrs ago. She's always been a very busy multi - tasker perfectionist and one of the most giving, go out of her way type of woman but my problem ( & my sisters agree too) is that she seems to make very little time with us. My sisters do see her more now bc they have kids but they all live out east on the northfork and I'm in southwest Nassau - its very hard for me to just jump in the car and go visit them like they do one another. WOW this ques. got the best of me. DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE MY MOTHER but if you knew her and the ones who do would say 'MJ shes an amazing woman but she does too much almost to fault'. Sorry ladies for my ranting but THANK YOU for listening.

Re: QOTD for Thursday

I would have to say one of my BM's is super helpful and goes everywhere with me despite the fact that she lives in Jersey.

as far as least helpful, my best friend and MOH but i understand that its very hard for her bcuz she just had a baby and i am totally ok with it bcuz i know if the circumstances were different she would be there for me 100%.

also i wish my mom could be more involved. since she lives out of the country she cannot be with me to events like my gown fitting, etc. this kinda bums me out sometimes

I totally agree. My BP has helped a bit but not as much as I would have liked,

Re: QOTD for Thursday

Well everyone has been so helpful, but the one who stands out is one of my BM who I NEVER would have thought would want to do wedding related stuff.

She just came out of a really bad breakup w/ a guy she was living with, so I guess I didnt really expect her to want to help too much (understandably). Well i was getting so stressed with my eparty that she offered to come over every day and help me with things, she even helped me put together favors, offered to help me clean, pick things up, do running around which caught me by surprise. My own sister (MOH) didnt even offer to do that stuff!
