~*~*QOTD Fri 9/16/11*~*~

Happy Friday, ladies!!! Today's question is about my favorite part of wedding planning: the dress!!! Finding the one is about as hard as finding 'the one'! lol!

Question: If you've found your dress, how did you know it was the one and what type of emotions did you have? Did you cry/laugh/smile? If you haven't, what are your expectations about what you expect to feel or how you will know? To you hope to have a moment yourself, or are you more realistic/practical in your approach?

My Answer: Of course I really wanted to have a special feeling and moment when I found 'the one' as every girl probably dreams. And as a very emotional person, I thought my chances were pretty good! But I prepared myself in case it didn't turn out that way.

Well, like I said, I'm an emotional person, and i was tearing at the first dress I tried on, and it ended up being the runner up dress! (based on the emotion of the 1st dress or the actual dress, I dont know!) But when I found my dress, I had it on for about 15 minutes and it clicked when she added the veil. I got butteflies, but no tears. Then my sister said, 'Jennie, is this the dress you can see yourself marrying Tommy in?' And the waterworks came!!!

I did find my dress, but I didn't cry. In fact, my mom was worried because I didn't cry over it, BUT I knew that I'm not that type of person so I didn't worry about it.

I thought that I was moving overseas so I rushed finding the dress a bit, so I may have found something different but I don't regret my choice at all.

I was a bit torn between a halter type dress that I first tried on in Seattle before I moved, but the sample was a plus size and I just couldn't tell whether it would work in my size. EVERY other halter I tried in NY didn' twork for me, so I'm hoping it was fate .

I didn't cry when I found my dress, but im not really much of a crier. I didnt cry when I got engaged either.

I knew it was the perfect dress because I could not stop looking at myself in it. I just stood there staring at myself and I did not want to take it off!

I haven't stated dress shopping yet. I am very excited & scared to start the process. I have been extremely emotional throughtout the wedding planning process & scared that I will have an extremely hard time deciding on a dress. I am all over the place on the type of dress I want one minute I want ball gown & then another minute I want simple. I just hope that I will have THIS IS IT moment otherwise deciding I think will be tough for me.

I had already picked out a dress looking at a magazine and took it with me. They said they didn't even have the dress, but could find others by the same designer. My thing was that I need a detachable train. The first two dresses I tried on I liked but not loved. I felt like I was forcing myself to feel something because I didn't know what the 'AH' moment was.

The third dress I was debating in my head but when I looked in the mirror I saw that I had a huge cheesy smile on my face. Even the sales lady said it. When she put the veil on my eyes got watery and I knew.

Turns out the dress I picked was my other choice that FH didn't like because it looked to blingy. He sucks at picking out dresses!

I'm not expecting to cry/tear up when I find the one. I didn't cry when FH proposed to me, so I can't imagine I'd cry over a dress!

I've tried on a handful of dresses so far and there is one that I have a really good feeling about. When I tried it on it just felt good and I didn't want to take it off! I also smiled a ton and kept laughing while I was wearing it. I think that's my telling sign it's for me! I'd like to try on a few more first, to be sure.

I found my dress and I love it! Below is a picture. I was glowing when I put it on. I continued to try on other dresses but I kept comparing what was wrong since it was not the dress. I did not try but I was very giggly and full of emotions

I haven't started dress shopping yet but I get super excited just looking at pix of the dresses that I like.

I am pretty sure I'll cry when I try on the first dress and the waterworks will start with 'the one'. Smae from my mom and maybe even my FMIL

Thanks Melissa. It is nothing that I thought that I would get. I thought that I would end up with something that was either a ballgown or a A line. I never thought it would be tight at all around my stomach and hips!
