Sorry I'm so late again, this week has been CRAZY at work!

Today's question is: Throughout the wedding planning process, what is the one thing (vendor, color, style, whatever) that you and FH totally don't see eye to eye on and how did you resolve the issue? Who ultimately won the battle, lol?

I would say the ONLY thing we didn't see eye to eye on were invitations.

No joke, that had to be the most frustrating part! Every time we went looking, it was a massive ordeal, lasting hours.
When we first started looking at invites, I showed him the ones I was obsessed with (which we ultimately ended up getting in the end ) but we both agreed they were too expensive.

Sooooooooo the 2nd runner up which was the one we ordered at first, when the proof came, my mom spoke hermind and said they were too plain Clearly she didn't 'get' the whole modern, minimalistic thing....

So we cancel the order, GO BACK to the invitation place, and for HOURS again we couldn't agree on invitations.

Finally FH goes 'where's the book with what you loved?', they take it out, and ultimately we got my dream wedding invitations. And yes, they were but to even out the expenses we won't be ordering any custom menus, placecards, table numbers, etc. So it all evens out. They offer all that at our RH free of charge so we will use what they print for us.

It was a big compromise and in the end guess who 'won'

Tuxes!

I REALLY wanted all of the guys to wear navy suits with navy and fuschia striped ties... but FH thought suits weren't formal enough. So he won and we did tuxes with a black vest and fuschia tie.

And all the guys did look really good... but I think the suits would have been even better.

We hadn't seen eye to eye on how much everything cost... but that's not really a 'win/ lose' situation... that's a 'but my sister's wedding was only $3k' issue... It wasn't on Long Island. lol... anyway, he got over it!!!

Otherwise, the only major thing we had a disagreement about was table seating. I wanted escort cards and assigned tables. He wanted more casual willy nilly seating.

I won. It worked out fine in the end.

Our cake. We initially had someone making us a beautiful cake, and we were paying them like $100 cause they were a a friend of the family. But then I met Lisa Becker Bakery at a bridal expo (one of many) I went to and absolutly fell in LOVE with her cake. At the show she had banana cake with her homemade buttercream icing. Oh my goodness :o)

So i go home and put the puppy dog eyes on...and told him just how good and awesome her cake was. I talked him into going for a cake tasting there and he totally ageed. It tasted amazing, AND her work was excellent! *and she didnt use fondant. I HATE fondant*

We werent expecting to spend the extra money on the cake but Im glad we did. I think we both won on that one

FH and I both said they are both out and we will keep looking... after a couple of hours fh and i went for a walk and said if i really love DM we could book it

band v. dj. I always wanted a band. FH always wanted a dj. He won due to budget issues. BUT I got a piano player during CH and dinner as the concession to having live music.
