Hope everyone survived the tornado that hit Queens and other places.
Today's question is....how did you and FH/DH meet?
I met FH on Facebook. We both went to the same college and he was in a frat and I was in a sorority. One day he friend requested me on Facebook, he had gone to school many years before me so I didn't know him but I knew many guys in his frat so I just figured I had met him but was probably to drunk to remember him. So I accepted his request. I thought he was really cute and funny, and after a while was trying to figure out how I could get him to ask me out. I didn't have to work too hard, because he started messaging me and soon asked me out. On our first date, he told me he saw me on the college frat/sorority page and thought I was cute, so he added me. Our first date lasted from 7 PM to 4 AM, and we've been inseparable since. Now our wedding has all these people from college....if someone had told me 13 years ago, I'd marry a frat guy and all these people would be there, I'd never believe them.

We were set up on a blind date................by our mothers
I was a senior in HS and DH was a sophomore in college. In December 1999, my mother sat me down one day and asked me “How would you like to meet a 19-year-old from Nassau (community college)?” My response: “How do YOU know a 19-year-old from Nassau?”
My mother explained that she was referring to one of her co-worker's sons. Now normally I would NEVER have gone through with this, but I figured I’d do it appease mom. I asked her to get me a picture. So she and (now) MIL exchanged pictures of us, and phone numbers, and a week later, when I was putting up the Christmas tree, he called me for the first time. He asked if I’d like to get together for dinner one night, and I responded with 'Let me check my schedule.' He immediately took that comment the wrong way and made the first of his many sarcastic and inappropriate jokes to me. We set up a date for the following weekend, and agreed to bring friends along to help with the awkwardness.
We met the next Saturday night (December 18, 1999) at a TGI Fridays with friends by our sides. After dinner, we went to a local pool hall. He hated me on our first date, I had a great time. If you ask Mike about our first date, he will tell you that the only time I looked him in the eye was to tell him 'I hope you dance, because I don't date anyone who doesn't dance' (I don't recall this, AT ALL).
That was over 10 years ago........and now we've been married for just over 3 months

FH and I met at my cousins.... my cousin used to throw HUGE parties.. and we me met before officially meeting... but we didn't realize that until much later.
so our actual story: (I'm copy and pasting off our old myspace page lol)
How we met... that's actually quite a funny story. During the summer of 2004 I was very close with a girl named Stephanie, FH was very close with my cousin Dave. One Tuesday night while Steph and I were out in plainview visiting some friends I got a phone call from Dave asking if we'd like to come over. He said he had a friend over, that I might be interested in. I told him no, we were going to Plainview then heading home, I had work in the morning. After getting to Plainview and having nothing to do we decide to stop by Dave's. So Stephanie and I show up around 9:30/10:00. Right away FH and I look at each other like... 'is he serious?' So not each others type. FH thought I was a little too... under dressed? (it was the summer, I was wearing a skirt and a strapless shirt). I thought he was a little... well... way too quiet. So we sit there, watching TV, I'm sitting on the excersize ball trying to keep myself entertained while FH is thinking 'please fall off'. So now FH says he has to go it's late, I agree. So the four of us walk outside, it's around 11:00 at this point. Somehow FH's major came up (he was studying to be a health teacher) and I decided to ask him some 'female' questions.. and from that we had a 4 hour conversation and I was hooked. We all agreed to hang out the next night. And we did. The next night started out nicely, We ordered dinner, ate, cleaned up, watched 'Empire'. during the movie I played around with FH's cell phone and put my number in it, and called my phone from his so I had his. As the night went on we got a lot closer, and then there was our first kiss. Something just felt right, I got butterflies, and I knew right then and there... this is forever. Then comes the sad part... FH has to go home. We walk him outside and he leaves. I'm all upset and complaining to Dave so he calls FH and tells him to come back,FH told dave to give him my number, not knowing it was already saved in his phone.. the next night we're at my cousins.. again. after playing an interesting game of mini golf. and well.. FH decide to hang out in his car. We sat there just talking and listening to Ozzy... and fell asleep. On August 18, 2004.. we went on our first 'date' to see the princess Diaries II; Royal Engagement. From there We haven't been apart.
so basically our first 'real' conversation was about lady problems- LOL

Re: ***QOTD - Friday, September 17, 2010 ***
I was 15 and he was 17. We had a mutual group of friends in high school. I was hanging out in Port Jeff with a few people and I had a boyfriend who would literally NOT stop calling my cell phone () until I finally left Port Jeff to go to his house (thankfully I broke up with him not long after this incident). As I was leaving, DH and his brother were pulling up and that's when I first met both of them. DH's brother wound up giving me a ride to my boyfriend's house and we were chatting away and wound up becoming really good friends. We were together ALL the time, which is how I became closer to DH. When I first met DH, I really didn't even give him a thought. I met them in April and by August, DH and I were best friends! We used to hang out all the time- go out to breakfast before work on Fridays, go to Kohls (that was our favorite store- still is lol), play Mario Party on gamecube, etc. and we just used to act like total dorks.
We liked each other SO much even though I wound up dating his good friend for over 2 years. It was like I had 2 boyfriends.. My real boyfriend and then DH, who was more like the one I could play with and act like a kid with. We were best friends for a few years before I finally left my boyfriend for DH. It was total drama but we knew it was worth it, and we knew it was the real deal..

We met on Match.com.
Funny thing though, I was a freshman in my high school and he was a senior at the time, and we have probably crossed each other's paths, but my FBIL was in my gym class.
There's a picture of FH at his high school graduation when he's returning to his seat, and I am in the background with my clarinet (I played in the band).
Anyways, it was weird because I had just gotten out of a nasty relationship and I was in the 'eff this, i'm gonna date around and get a guy to pay for me for a change', and the second I met FH, that went out the window. We met at a starbucks after talking online for a few weeks, we actually NEVER went inside starbucks, we just stayed in the parking lot and talked for 3 hours. The next day, we went to dinner at applebees.

we met at college - my roommate and one of his roommates were in a class together and one night, we met up at a bar and that's where we were introduced...
he was running for student association so i knew who he was immediately because his face was plastered on posters all over campus. we were both designated drivers for the night and spent the whole night talking to each other.
as the semester ended, we would spend every night walking around campus together to get away from our friends and spend time alone. after we went to our respective homes (me LI, him Westchester) for the summer, we fell apart from one another. we both started dating other people the next year and although we were friendly, we didn't see much of each other after that...
5 years later, after ending a long, drawn out, dramatic relationship with someone who was not good for me, i reached out to him - always remembering what an amazing guy he was, even ig we did only spend a few short months together.
he was single and i was single, and we agreed to meet up in the city one night. from the second we saw each other, i knew we would be together forever

We met at our freshman college orientation - I didn't really have contact with him again until we moved into our dorm that year and our rooms were right down the hall from eachothers. We hung out all the time as friends for like the first 2 months of school and then realized there was something more than just friendship between us...can't believe that was almost 7 years ago now.
