~*~*QOTD, Happy St. Patrick's Day 2012!*~*~

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful day outside!

I can't believe I have one more day until this week is over! It has been a blast being BOTW and I can't wait to share this experience with a new bride

So Today's Theme is....

Invitations!

---------------------------------------------

Part One:
Since providing each other with inspiration is what we do best on this website, Share your ideas, some photos, colors, etc. for what you your invitations could look like?

Part Two:
What did your parents think of FH the first time you invited him to meet them?

Part One:
We are thinking a navy blue background similar to the picture and maybe a fuschia bow on top or some white and fuschia lettering. I still can't figure out the wording. What are you guys using for the wording on the invite?

Part Two:
My mom was anything, but nice the first time she met FH. She was convinced that he was this bad boy (which in retrospect she realized she was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off )and thought he would get me into trouble. She of course realized her errors a couple months into us dating and now loves him as much as I do. My dad from day one thought FH was one of the funniest people he has ever met. He LOVED FH when he first met him, which is rare because I was definitely a Daddy's girl when I was younger and he was so judgemental of the guys I dated.

You've been doing such a great job as BOTW, Mariana! Yayyyy!!

1.) Our invitations fit our theme to a 'T'.... my friend who is a children's book illustrator/artist designed our invites!
It's very whimsical and different.... exactly what we wanted. There are two blue birds, red flowers and a banner with our name & date on it. I love them!

2.) My Parents/Family met my fiance' for the first time on New Years Day. We always have a nice family dinner on NYD & because my fiance' was literally bugging me to meet my parents haha... I figured it would be the best time for them to meet! They really liked him and they teased him about being a vegetarian, I remember!

I'm having a plain invite nothing crazy lol .. It's going to be ivory and green with Irish knots going around the side with the heart with the hands on the side at the top!!! Just very simple!

My mom loved him lol and so did my dad ... It's was all good!

Our colors are navy blue and pale pink so I some how want to get that into the invite. I really have not go much further then that.

My parents always liked FH. There was never any issues everyone just got along.

1. We're having a vintage inspired shabby chic kind of affair, so while we don't have specific colors for anything, peach/mint/coral definitely factored into our choices. Ended up finding the perfect stationery that could be customized in our colors with some chevron details to add our vibe in the mix. Pics of everything in my album....love vistaprint & weddingchicks!

2. My parents always liked FH, too. They officially met for a brief minute at an honors convocation, but talked to him more a few days later when we graduated from college. Their impression was he was very cute but quiet so what was he doing with me lol

Part One:
We haven't done invitations yet and in all honesty, I'm really not into them anyway It's one of those things that I would just let someone else pick if I could because it isn't a big deal to me. We will probably do something off white or white with a navy background/writing with some silver/grey or something.

Part Two:
My parents liked FH. My mother thought he was too quiet but my father (who doesn't talk much) had a full on convo with him about being in the Navy (dad was a Marine). It was cute.

Part 1
I would like either pocket invitations or an invitation with a ribbon and a blingy embellishment on it. I am seriously considering DIY invitations in these styles. Yvonne inspired me.

Part 2
My parents thought FH was a nice and respectful young man and enjoyed talking to him. My mother was impressed with his job.

Here's a pic of one of the invitation styles I am considering. Does anyone know how to make these? If so, could you give me some pointers please?

Part One: Just started looking at invitations! I'm looking at a toile print

Part Two: My parents came to visit me in college and met FH after we were dating about 3 months! They loved him then and even more now!
