QOTD: If you could go back to an event in your past and act more honorably than you did, what event would you pick?

There are a couple, one is now irrelevant but still bugs me.

This one, I am still getting crap for... I would have put my FMIL in her place a bit more gently than I did a few months ago. I was harsher than need be for the situation.

I used to be a competitive baton twirler. Well, when I was younger I won my first championship and got this nice big trophy. I brought it to school with me to show everyone because I was so excited. On the way home from school, on the bus, some snotty biotch girl kept making fun of me for some reason. So as she was getting off the bus, I took my beautiful trophy and wacked her over the head with it!! Nobody makes fun of me!! Needless to say, after I did it, I felt soooo bad because she was crying. And even though she really deserved it, I would go back to that event and handle it differently. I should not have wacked her with the trophy. But it is funny thinking of it now!!

Nope, you should have shoved it up her....

Sounds like she did deserve it and if it were one of the biotches I went to school with I would not have felt bad about it at all!!!

Flashback to 1990 --

I was in college and I met this really, really shy Turkish girl. She had great olive skin and these BEAUTIFUL green eyes. She was like 5' 2 and had the longest chestnut brown hair.

And I don't know what I did right.. but we started dating.

Anyways.. one day she says to me that she really cared for me but that it couldn't be forever because her folks wanted her to marry a Turkish gentleman. They'd never accept me & she would be disowned by them.

So I was cool for like the first week with not being able to date her.. but then I grew more resentful @ her parenst. I was angry, hurt. I wondered why we couldn't make it work. (I was 19 and unbelieveably naive and idealistic.)

Basically it led to an ugly situation where we couldn't even look at each other. Hurtful comments were made on by both of us to each other. It just was not pretty at all.

So I would go back and just be more gracious and understanding.. and not have made a very painful situation for both of us.. it was so opposite of what we had. I would even say that we did enjoy those first initial feelings of love.. but it wasn't to be.

That's OK..

Flashforward to 2002..
Here would enter the FW!

Hmm well my nemesis in college and I fought constantly. Unfortunately we were also in the same sorority and lived in the same house. One night she was out at the bars, and my best friend (now MOH!) and I vaselined the toilet seat in her bathroom, and put saran wrap over the top of the toilet so all the pee ran off! Anyway, she actually fell off the toilet seat and really hurt herself. Oh, and she was balding so we called the hair club for women and had them send her an informational packet and video.
