QOTD: If you had to work in any store in the local mall, which would it be?

Easy...Pottery Barn! If not I'd work for a place where I'd get clothes at a discount, like Gap or Ann Taylor Loft!

I worked retail (Not in a mall) but I hated it and would never do it again... BUT if HAD to choose -- it would be either Bath & Body Works or Sephora!

In college, I worked at Sterns in the children's department and seriously it was the worst job I ever had .. working at Pathmark in HS was AWESOME compared to Sterns! I wanted to shoot myself some days. I lasted about 6 months before I quit

I love kids , mind you, but working in the kids dept was like hell. I could NEVER work in a children's store or a departmetn store every again

I dont' think I could work ANYWHERE in the mall, to be honest. Maybe as someone said I could deal with Coach or Jewelry store, but not sure

I give credit to those who work in retail, you are totally overworked and underpaid.

I worked in the Disney store in college, trust me...not as much fun as you think, especially at Christmas time!!!

I'd have to say Victoria's Secret or NY & Co.

I worked in a department store when i was in HS...NEVER AGAIN!!!

either pottery barn, a jewelry store, clothes horse

I spent 5 years in retail and I hopefully will never have to go back. If I did, I would either go back to Bloomingdales- the discount was awesome, or I would go back to Versace- the commission was great!

in college i worked at abercrombie and loved it. it was the best job. the pay was bad, but it was SO much fin!

I atually liek the kids store better thant he grownup store. Express had all the stupid ruels that contradicted each other. I worked msotly nights a Kids R us , so ther wern't so many kids there then.

The place was always trashed, so mostly they wanted us to clean it up as much as we could but it wasn't expected to be perfect liek Express & our main objectives were to make sure it was safe for kids ( stuff of floor, no hangers sticking out) & to be nice to people so they would come back.

No trying to shove credit cards down people's throats!
Maybe that's why the went out of business. . .

If i had no choice - because I REALLY wouldnt want to work retail -

Pottery Barn or a makeup counter at Bloomingdales.

Hmmm...

Pottery Barn (for the comfy furniture and soothing decor
Williams Sonoma (for the yummy food samples)
Ann Taylor or ATL for the discounts
J Crew for the cool clothes.

Home Depot Expo (unfortunately they don't offer an employee discount, but I'm still seriously considering getting a job there.)

I would NEVER go back into retail voluntarily... but it would have to be Old Navy...

I work in retail and hate it, hate it, hate it.

I'm only staying there now to get my discount to put towards stuff for the wedding and the extra $$ doesn't hurt.

None...been there, done that, never again.


here here

i already worked at old navy, express and a chocolate store. never again. i would rather die of starvation and be homeless than work retail again.
