QOTD: is age truly just a number?

when it comes to dating or relationships or even just friendships is age just a number.. take my ex, hes 24 and has the maturity of a 16 yr old..i met this guy he is 20 yrs old and seems to b extremely mature.. i m 22 and feel that my life experience makes me a much more mature person, plus i hang out with pple in there 30's.. does age affect ur relationships?

Age is just a number after you hit like 24 IMO. I could explain why I think this, but I feel lazy right now. I'll tell you later

i am 28 (gulp) and my husband is 25......we are in the same place in our lives, even though we're different ages.

i think it defintely depends on the person.

Completely depends on the person and relationship.

age is definitely a number IMO ...

I am 30something (lol) and my DH is 4 years younger .. we are totally on the same page and really both probably act like we're in our 20s Though in other ways, we act much OLDER than our years ..

I always thought I'd marry someone older .. turns out I was wrong!

I know, that made no sense. As long as you find the person that is your soulmate and true partner in all aspects, the age thing truly doesn't matter ..

my husband is 9 years younger than me but we are in the same place in life!! He is very mature for his age...compared to other men of the same age that I know.

I think age is just a number too...my parents were 17 years apart in age and DH's parents are 18 years apart. True, DH and I were born on the same day of the same year!

Just for laughs, my BIL has this posted in his tour bus:
Dating age calculator . I guess they think they are going to get some girls (or maybe they do...I'm not about to ask!).

I think it truly is just a number and it depends on the individual.

My DH and I are 8 years apart and feel the same age, so I agree that age is truly just a number (unless you're under 18 of course )

Hmm...Age is a number to some extent I believe...But I do think with age comes different places in life. I am 26, and talking with my cousins in college I realize how different my life is (granted, had they been working full time instead of being able to go to college and party, they too would be at a different place). My mother is nearing retirement age, and definitely in the years where she is winding down. I can't imagine dating someone significantly older just because I can't imagine them keeping up, because I feel I am in my prime. My FH has a 25 year old friend (FH is 27) that is dating a 32 year old divorced woman. I was talking to her last weekend and she said the 7 years is too much now--her friends are mosting married, having kids if they don't already...His are mostly single, out at the bars... And it was important to her to maintain those friendships....I guess it depends on the people....

It is just a number but it all depends on the person. Physically no, age is age, wrinkles and grays are going to come no matter how young you feel but emotionally you can be a 20 yr old at 40.

Dh is def more mature than his chronological age...but it wasn't always that way. I didn't associate with him for abut 3 years during our 10 year friendship before we dated because he fell into this thing where he acted like a 12 year old.

He got over it & so did I. I think personality and lifestyle compatibility are way more important than age.
