What is one wedding tradition you will not be doing at your wedding? What wedding trend are you over?

Def not doing the toss of the bouquet or garter, but I don't really think those are done anymore

Yeah, I'm not tossing the bouquet/garter either. Instead we are going to have the DJ call all the married couples to the dance floor, then slowly eliminate the more recently married couples...less than a year, less than 2 years, etc. The last couple standing (who have been married the longest) will get the bouquet.

We're contemplating doing the bouquet and garter toss but DEFINITELY not doing the thing where the guy who caught the garter puts it in the girl who caught the bouquet. It gets so weird and uncomfortable.

We're sticking with most other traditions though like not seeing each other before the ceremony, and having something old new borrowed and blue :)

Definitely not doing the bouquet and garter toss. I feel like it's not done much anymore and I don't want to take away from the dancing I plan on doing all night.

Yeah, I'm not tossing the bouquet/garter either. Instead we are going to have the DJ call all the married couples to the dance floor, then slowly eliminate the more recently married couples...less than a year, less than 2 years, etc. The last couple standing (who have been married the longest) will get the bouquet.

i love this idea!!

We are doing something similar. Instead of the garter and bouqet toss, we are having an anniversary dance. It seems that 3 couples from my FH family (FIL's included) will have been married over 44 years by the time of our wedding. That being said we will be giving each of them a bottle of wine with their name and anniversary date engraved in the bottle. I also will be giving my FIL's a Together Since T-shirt which I know for sure they will wear whenever they go on vacation. Lol They are so freakin adorable.

That is a REALLY cute idea Kimberley! I love it! My mom really wants me to play her and my dad's wedding song at our wedding and its a horrible song! Our DJ suggested using a cover version and making it into the anniversary dance. So I may be stealing your idea! (hope you don't mind) I just would need to figure out who has been married the longest...It would be adorable if it was my parents! I need to look into this!

Look at your guest list and ask how many year the couples have been married. That way you can get an idea. Also you can ask and play it off that you are trying to pick a weddi g song for yourself that way you can have some of their songs play at yours.

We're not doing the bouquet or garter toss, and we will be seeing each other before the ceremony.I don't know if this falls into 'traditional' or not, but I am also having both my parents walk me in rather than just my dad.
