QOTD - July 26, 2014

Hey ladies! I know the weekend isn't the most popular time for the question of the day but I had to start somewhere!

My first question is:

What traditions are you following? Which ones are you avoiding? Why or why not?

The traditions that are the most important to us are the dances (first dance, father/daughter, mother/son).

We are skipping the bouquet toss and receiving line. I don't mind either of them at someone else's wedding but they're just not for us. I would prefer to hang out with everyone on the dance floor and/or go table to table to say hello rather than do the receiving line.

Have a great weekend!

We are following the first dance and father/daughter mother/son dance as well. The something old, new borrowed blue.

We are skipping the bouquet and garter. We also will be seeing each other before the ceremony.Skipping the receiving line as well.

I'm sure there's others that slip my mind right now.

We are holding onto those same traditions.. all the dances, something old/new/borrowed/blue.. and we're having a traditional full mass ceremony, so we will not be seeing each other before I walk down the aisle =)

We're contemplating not doing the bouquet and garter tosses. Definitely not doing the thing where the guy who catches the garter puts it on the girl who catches the bouquet. It gets so weird and awkward lol

I'm doing the something old, new, barrowed and blue. Doing father daughter dance, first dance and I'll be dancing with FH to a memorial type song for the mother and son dance. I like the garter and bouquet toss I'm doing it....
We r seeing each other before church for pics.
Idk what else....
I can say bc we r getting married on a Friday the 13th we will have done non traditional things.....
Every table will be number 13 (13a,13b 13c etc)
Doing the grand entrance fh will open an unbrella
The table numbers will be on broken glass (look like not actually)
If we can make it we r going to have an archway that looks like ladder for is to walk under
Thinking about an aisle runner that looks like cracked pavement.....

We are doing all the typical wedding traditions... father/daughter, mother/son dances, bouquet/garter toss, something old new borrowed and blue and we will not be seeing eachother before the wedding. I know its not a big deal but we do not want any line dances at our wedding... cheesy!

We are definitely not doing the bouquet or garter toss. We are keeping with the traditions of not seeing each other before the wedding. I think that is mostly it!

We are not doing much of any traditional things. I didn't want to do the cake or the father/daughter dance so I think that's the most we are going with tradition.

It seems like the bouquet and garter tosses aren’t as popular as they used to be. The last 3 weddings I went to didn’t do them. They can still be pretty entertaining through! I think it depends on the personalities of the bride & groom.

We will be seeing each other before the ceremony. I was on the fence about it for a while and was initially against it. However since our ceremony & reception are both at the same location we won’t really have time for too many photos in between. Plus we really wanted to do photos by the beach so we will have our first look there. It just makes more sense for us and I think it will be a really nice moment.
