Sorry I was ***** yesterday but I had quite the busy day which I will post about later ..........
Anyway here is the question of the day
It is your 10 year anniversary and your Wonderful Husband says that you can upgrade your engagement ring [larger stone, new setting etc etc] Only catch you cannot keep your original ring......would you still upgrade?
I would love to upgrade but I personally don't think I could ever part with this ring....to know that Josh put so much work into getting me this ring....he did it on his own and was so proud of himself....I would never part with it.

I don't think I would upgrade. FH put so much work into picking out the perfect ring for me, and it will be the ring on my finger when we get married. To change it just wouldn't feel right.

I would never upgrade and give up my current ring. I love it so much and it is so important to me. He was so proud of his work as I was.

No way! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my ring and would never need an upgrade. The stones are already bigger than I ever imagined I would have, any bigger and they'd overwhealm my finger, but most importantly FH designed it for me - it's one of a kind.

Honestly, I don’t see getting an upgrade in the future as a slap to FH’s face. FH worked hard to get me a ring above my expectations and I LOVE it. I am so proud of him and he loves that he made me so happy. Still, I know if FH had unlimited funds, he would’ve given me the Hope diamond.
I think 10 years is a huge milestone anniversary. Hopefully, within those years, FH and I would’ve reached our goals and be living a comfortable life together. I think a new ring can be very symbolic of all that we’ve accomplished in the last decade and how far we’ve come together. It can also be seen as a renewal of our commitment to each other.

Nope i would never part with my ring. FH had it custom made for me and it was exactly what i wanted. I love it to much to ever give it away. Even if it was for a larger stone.

While I would most likely love to be able to get a new ring in 10 years, I would never want to give this one up! Too much sentimental value!!

I would upgrade my ring definitely. I am a bit sad the my setting wouldn't be able to stay but I think it is sweet getting the upgrade as your life and finances become more stable and better. I love my ring but I know at my 10th aniversary I would love the upgrade as well.

I'd say no, this ring will always be the reminder of his hard work and passion to get this ring! And with that I'm reminded of the wonderful man I said yes to!!!

I totally agree. he saved and shopped an researched and it's a reminder of the day he asked me to be his forever. I couldn't get rid of it.

I agree 100%.
My mom upgraded her ring on her 25th anniversary.
In no way was that 'insulting' or whatever to my father. He was the one who went to pick it out with her!
She kept the same stone but got a beautiful setting that she loves.
PLUS back when they got married yellow gold was all the rage, she didn't want to just dip the ring white - all her other jewelery is platinum. So she got the platinum setting she had her eye on.
