QOTD Monday 07/23

Sorry Im posting late I didnt realize I was BOTW!!

Is there a 'wedding tradition' you are following even though you don't want to..lol

I really really don't want to do the placing of the rings on each other because I just have a different way of thinking of things and think the rings have become something other than what they truly symbolize. And honestly I don't wear jewelry!!

There are a few traditions that aren't for me, but we're just not doing them. We're skipping the garter and bouquet toss and we're not having the bridal party dance together.

We aren't doing these things either..we aren't doing the cake cutting but because we hate cake and aren't even serving it and I feel too silly to do a cupcake or doughnut cutting..lol

I'm skipping these also. I'm not very traditional so I'm trying to skip any traditions that to *me* are the cheesiest... I'm leaving a few traditions in there really just to please family members - such as the cake cutting, I really don't care, but we are doing it.

We are also skipping the the garter and bouquet toss. We dont have alot of single friends and I personally hated being single and having to participate in the bouquet toss. We might not do a father/daughter dance if my FH mother doesnt come for him to do a mother/son dance.

I don't want to wait when I'm walking down the aisle to see FH only because I want to take pictures before hand so we can relax during the CH. But my family wants for me to follow the tradition.
Not sure if we will be doing a father/daughter dance and a mother/son dance. I don't really want to dance with mt father and he's not a socialable person so he might not want to do it anyway. FH's mother passed away when he was younger. Although he has agood relationship with his stepmom I don't think he will want to dance with her because although he doesn't always talk about it I know he misses his mother and wishes she was still alive. So I'm thinking we can just cut those dances out and that will give it more time to party.

A father-daughter dance. our relationship is extremely tense and we don't get along very well. So - I really don't want to dance with him, but I don't have an option.

We're still trying to decide whether or not to do the garter toss... sometimes it's kind of tacky in my opinion.

Also the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...i think i'll do that but it's such a dated tradition.

I'm keeping most traditions. FH doesn't want to do garter or bouquet toss. he also doesnt want MOH speech at the wedding. He will wear a ring that day but he refuses to after. HAHA
