QOTD Monday, 3-21-2011

First thank you to ImgonnabeMrsC for appointing me BOTW!!! I honestly didn't think I would ever get this title!!

So FH and I have been discussing our dream weddings and how much they differ. So I am curious......

What is the biggest thing you have had to compromise on your dream wedding to include FH's input?

I have always dreamed of a church wedding with two of my closest friends singing during the ceremony. I set it up when we were in High School. Well FH is super against singing at the wedding and wants a very non traditional ceremony. I am getting my pastor and it will have a religious flare to it, but he is having it outside and with no singing. The singing is the one thing he will not bend on! What about you ladies???

Having a huge wedding!

I would have rather gotten married at our church with just our immediate family and going to a restaurant for dinner.

Instead we are having a huge production with 300 people invited!

Same here! But I remind FH of this everytime he complains about the cost!

I always thought I would be married in my family's church in Buffalo. Now, I am being married in a gazebo by a rabbi

Haha! Now thats a big difference! I wanted to be married in my church in Alaska but at least I'm still getting a methodist minister.

FH didnt want a big wedding. He wanted to just go to city hall and call it a day....After years of convincing and talking about it, I got my wish :)

hmm...FH has been pretty good at saying ok to most things but i guess it's the invitations. He actually said yes to the hard cover invitations but then i wanted to save $ and actually said no to them but we compromised on the color of the invitation. I wanted a pink pocketfold and he thought it would be too busy so we went with silver instead. oh well...i still love them

I haven't had to compromise on anything. We both always imagined an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family members and that's what we're getting. Thankfully, we also have agreed on everything to date.

The only thing we can't agree to is getting personalized flutes + cake cutting set. He so doesn't see the point of it. MEN! lol

I wanted a band and FH wanted a DJ. It was a compromise which wasnt so hard to make considering we are saving a lot of money by going with a DJ instead.

well FH and I both had to compromise since our dream wedding would have been destination. We knew this wouldn't be possible without excluding a lot of people we would have wanted to invite. But we are both couldn't be happier with every choice we have made for wedding. We've been on the same page since day one.

I wanted a small beach wedding. FH and his family wanted a huge wedding with a catholic ceremony - they won. I even got confirmed so that I could get married in their church.

This is actually how FH talked me into an outdoor ceremony. I said I wanted to be married in a church so he said fine but in a catholic church. I compromised to the outdoor wedding very quickly!

FH wanted a small destination wedding, but I never imagined my wedding being anywhere but in my church... so FH actually did more compromising than I did. We're having a big, traditional wedding and pretty much every other detail I have asked for

The one thing I compromised on was flower girls. I wanted one (or 2) sooo bad but the only girls close to that age around us FH would have felt awkward asking their parents, so no dice.

i always wanted to get married outdoors in a really woodsy setting maybe a park or something but it was really important for him to be married in his church so i had no problem compromising, instead we're atleast taking pics in the woods and an outdoor cocktail hour!
