Sorry my QOTD is a bit late today but im in Jersey with the fam!
Okay, so since i am with my family this weekend (a lot of extended family) everyone decided to bombard FH and I with questions.
So my question is how did FH pick out your engagement ring? did you help him pick it out? or did he do it all on his own?
ETA: and if you want post a pic, i know there are a few newbies, be nice to see those pics!!!!

FH enlisted my little sister's help to find out what i liked. she actually was really good about this and i had no idea her reasoning. i thought she was just being curious about rings!
it was perfect b/c he got it exactly right without me having to say a word!

I told fh I wanted either round or princess cut in either platinum or white gold. He did research on his own on the internet and went to kay jewelers. Saw the ring there and immediately bought. He thought it was beautiful and something he would b proud for me to wear. He did a great job. I think I may have a picture in my album

Good question.
FH had a little help in the style. He was secretly working with my FSIL.
One weekend my FSIL said 'We're going shopping' that she's 'tired on waiting and wants to try on some rings' (her and my brother were talking about getting engaged and rings so it wasn't suspicous to me) I looked at her and was like.... 'We're doing what!' A few weeks later we were OOT for a few days and had some time to kill so.... we went shopping! The whole time i was 'ehh' to tell my now FH what we were doing. I was afraid he was going to think...'Your doing what and why? I didn't want him to think I was hint dropping, b/c i was not.
What's the funny part?
Later that night she emailed my now FH a picture on the ring I liked. TURNS OUT the whole 'lets go ring shopping' was her way of getting me to the store. She was working with my FH to find out the style i wanted.
Afterwards my FH laughs... he's like seriouslly out of ALL the rings to pick you picked a ring from a jewerler that was NOT located anywhere near NY and was the LAST ring in the company!? Luckly he had a picture of the ring and had it custom made. He had to have it custom made b/c the side view of my ring is not your typically setting.. one of my favorite parts!
I honestly though my fh would never purpose but I technically pick it out he knew what I didn't want because of my past e ring from an ex but fh thought that tiffany was what I wanted but I told him someone had a tension set band and I thought that was gorgeous. We looked randomly we would look for other jewelry and we found a total of 3 out of all the ones we had seen. When it came time he gave up the fact that he want a bigger diamond but I wanted a different setting and got me what I wanted. As long as my ring size doesn't change I'm good because I can't really resized it. It won't let me attach the pic but its in my album

FH always gets my mom to go shopping with him for jewelery for me, so that's who helped him out. However, with everything that he/I wanted in a ring, he had to get it customed made. He absolutely NAILED the ring...from the center stone (marquise) to the side diamonds, to the millgrain design, to the scroll work on the front and back of the band with diamonds...he floored me with it!
FH asked my mom to marry me back in May and didn't ask until the beginning of August! My mom was bursting to tell people so she would walk into random Dunkin Donuts or food stores and talk to people about me getting engaged because she was afraid that if she told someone that knew me, that person would let it slip that I was getting engaged!!
FH picked it out online and then went to the store to buy it. Meanwhile me and my mom were online picked out the same exact ring. When FH showed it to me I was like OMG i picked out that same ring, YOU DO KNOW ME! lol.
I gave my FI a picture of the ring I wanted, what I got was a simple round diamond (not the princess cut I wanted) with a plain gold band. (not the pave band I wanted in white gold) Mind you, I only wear white gold, I have white gold necklace, white gold earrings my FI bought me. Why he went with gold and round I have no idea! He went with our friends hubby and 5 yr old daughter. But it turns out the wedding bands we are getting are white and yellow gold. So it all works out!

FH refused to make such a huge purchase without my input. We went together several times and tried on many different kinds of rings. Finally, we ended up designing my ring from two other ones that we liked and wanted to 'merge' together. I never knew when he actually got the ring or saw the finished design until he got down on one knee, so even though we went together it was still a surprise
FH took me to look at rings to 'get an idea' and the one I fell in love with he actually got me but with a bigger center stone then the one I had actually tried on!
I actually went with FH to pick out the ring I wanted. Had it designed @ Kay's. FH said he was always going to let me pick out my own ring since i was the one wearing it.

Great question!!! I had to have a say in some of this, especially since we'd been dating for so long! I found a few settings I liked online and FH and I went to go try some on, and then we fell in love with my setting. FH then worked with the jeweler on the center stone. It's beautiful.. he did such a great job!

FH and I looked at rings casually, my mom works at Zales in the outlets so whenever we'd go visit I'd play with the rings. He had and idea of what I wanted...He knew princess cut, and white gold. As for the actual ring I got he picked it out all on his own and it was totally a surprise! And the best Christmas present ever

I told fh that I liked the bordered design and two years later he picked the perfect ring! That's itttt he picked it out all on his own. No help and not a soal knew about it

... FH and I went to the jewerly together.... We went to a lot of them because I am sort of picky lol... + i always switch my mind constantly!!! Lol.... So after trying and trying many rings, I decided I didnt want One Diamond... and that is why I went to tell him I wanted THIS one bcause it was different than the other ones.... So.. yeah I choosed it and HE LOVED IT! =)
