I thought today we could get to know each other a little bit better!
What was it like for you growing up? How many siblings or only child? Do you hope that your future family is just like the one you had growing up or would you change a few things?

i grew up in CT with my two brothers, and my sister lived in PA.
I had the best time in HS i played sports, small school, and ran the show
I want 3-4 kids. Its sad that I have to think about the size of our family based on how much we can afford.

Growing up for me was good. I have one brother and we are 8 years apart, hes 23 and I’m 31 so I do wish we had been closer in age. Until now, that’s hes “a man” we didn’t really spend too much time together but we do have a great loving relationship. I have a 6 year old son so it’s like I’m doing the same exact thing (not that I mean to) so he will be far in age from his brothers or sisters but I hope to have 2 or 3 kids right after each other.
My mom and dad were great until I was like 27 when my dad decided to split. It was really awkward for my mom because my dad was her first everything! First flirt, first date, first kiss…you get it. He had like a mid-life crisis and decided to leave and it was really awkward. It’s even more awkward because he hasn’t spoken to my brother or me in a year. Last time I saw him was at my sons birthday party last July and I don’t know why. I don’t even know what to do with the wedding..invite him, call him or just ignore him? Who’s walking me down the aisle? Just really awkward. I never, ever want to be like that. My mom is a rock but sometimes I still see the sadness you know? I don’t want my kids to ever see that in their parents. I want them to be happy and just feel secure in their family life and that’s all I can hope for. Sometimes I think it’s good to have seen both the good and the bad so that I can hopefully not let the bad happen.
The rest of my family is HUGE. My grandma was one of 8 and so was my other grandma so tons of uncles and aunts and cousins and they are all awesome. I love my family and I love having such a big one where we all get together and its just tons of smiles and laughs. I can’t wait to celebrate with them at the wedding!

I had an amazing childhood looking back on it. I have a brother who is 3 years younger than I am. We lived in the same house on LI my whole life. I def want my kids to have the same type of childhood I had and would love to be able to buy a house in the town I grew up in one day *fingers crossed*. I wouldn't change a thing about my childhood because I wouldn't be the person I am today.

Growing up was pretty good. My dad worked a lot, so I didn't get much time to spend with him. That's the one thing I really want different for my kids. I just remember having sport games (I played a different sport a season until HS where I focused on swimming) and my dad not being able to be there. I don't want that for my kids. I know why he did it, and I understand it as an adult, but it was hard growing up.
I'm one of 2. My brother is 7 years older than me, which stunk growing up. We weren't close until I was around 17 and he moved to Cali. Now we are pretty close (he's moved back to NY - he's 33 and single - if any of you ladies have friends that are single let me know lol)
I hope to have 3 kids (FH is the oldest of 4) and I know in some ways they will grow up in a similar home to me. I'm the tough one and FH is the pushover when it comes to discipline - so in that aspect it will be like my house growing up

I grew up in Queens, went to a Catholic school, and was an only child for 8 years. Then my sister came along. When I was 15, we moved to Long Island and I started public school for the first time ever. I seriously lived a sheltered life until I moved to Long Island (which you would think it would be the opposite)
Me and my sister are as close as you can be 8 years apart. My parents wanted more children but it was hard for them. I hope its easier for me and I want 2 kids but much closer in age.
I am one of 15 grandchilden on my moms side alone. When I was about 19, the whole family split up. We no longer speak to 3 of my aunts, (one is my godmother), thier children and my grandmother. It has been like this for about 10 years but it still makes me sad that they will not be at my wedding. When your a kid, you think what your wedding is going to be like and they, of course, were a huge chunk.

Oh a world of difference...
I grew up with a brother. IT was the two of us, and you would think we would be close. Our personalities, hobbies, likes, interests couldn't be further apart. We're opposite ends of the spectrum on everything - and have never been close.
My parents are hell bent, fight with each other constantly and for the last five years, pretty much threaten each other with divorce once weekly.
However - Fh's family is close. His parents had him young and divorced, but he's got 4 half siblings on his mom's side, 3 half-siblings on his dad's side. They are all really close. Brothers and best friends, tight.
Even when the divorced halfs are together - it's like a happy party. Everyone gets along, differences are put aside and family comes first.
It's very odd going from a family who is because they happen to be blood related to a really tight family. But it's nice feeling I have someone there - I talk more to Fh's mom than mine.

I have 2 older brothers. When I was younger I was closet to the older one and would drive the other crazy (I would always tell on him to get him in trouble) When I was in high school the oldest one moved away so that's when me and my other brother started getting closer and now he's the one I go to whenever I have a problem. I was awesome at sports and even played field hockey in college. Then my mom got sick so I transfered home.
I hope to have 2 maybe 3 kids. I want them to grow up like I did. All 3 of us were great at school and sports and we never felt pressure from our parents but we still succeeded in whatever we tried.

Growing up was good but there was def some not so good momemts. My mom and dad split up when I was 4 and were never married. I would see my dad every other wknd and some holidays.
I have 2 older brothers from my moms side. 1 younger sister from my dads side.
When I was 11 1 of my brothers was killed so of course it was terrible for my family. Esp my mom.
At 12 I moved to the Bronx (was living in Bklyn b4) to live with my dad. At 14 my mom moved to the Bx and was doing better after my brothers death so I moved back with her.
After HS things got rough again with my mom and we lost our apt and back to my dads I went. Had a falling out with my dad where we didnt speak for about 4 yrs (we are now on great terms!) and I went to FL to live with my bro at age 20. Stood a yr and moved back to NY and bounced around btwn Bk, Bx and Manhattan.
Finally at 24 I landed a good job and at 25 I moved into my own apt and was finally settled which felt freakin awesome after so much bouncing around.
So there is my very short mini bio lmaoo
I def want things different for my future kids. I want to be married and for them to have both parents in 1 household and for all of us to have the same last name. I want my kids to be settleted and not have to go through the stuggles I saw my mom and dad go through or that I went through. I also want our family to be close. Something I didnt really have with extended members of my family so I want to change that for my kids.

I had an ..interesting childhood! LOL We immigrated from Portugal when I was 3 so that was quite an adjustment for my family. My mom was so depressed for a year or so, we left everything back in Portugal. My parents worked 3 jobs each so me and my older brother hung out by ourselves a lot of times (He's 7 years older). I still loved my childhood and am so happy my parents fulfilled their dream. Now, I hope to be settled before I have my own kids and to always honor the fact that the sacrificed everything so me and my brother could have what we do now!

I grew up the youngest of 4, but with much older sibs: one sister 16 y/older, bro 11 y/older and another sister 8 y/older than me. It was fun, but very torturous...when my sister became a teenager and went through a lot of fitting in/body awareness issues, I got teased foreeevvveerrrrrrr. I thought I was fat for a really long time because she gave me her issues! smh. But, my brother was fantastic and my oldest sister was awesome though I didn't see her a lot - when I was two she went to college and never moved back home, she stayed in Albany. Still, I don't know what I would change. We're not having kids, but I spoil my nieces and nephew

I grew up with a brother 4 years younger, and a sister 9 years younger. I felt a little distant from my sister with such a big age difference (I left for college when she was 9). Things are good now though! I love both of my siblings. As for my parents - they've been dating since my mom was 13. They're still super in love and have been wonderful to my sister, brother, and myself. I hope for a supportive, loving family - just like the one I grew up in, but I think I want my kids a little bit closer in age.

I have 2 older brothers and the best parents ever! FH is middle of 3 boys. We were raised pretty similarly and have pretty much same morals and values when it comes to how we plan to raise our kids I want to be just like my parents and my fear is that I won't know the right things to say and do like they always did

I have 3 siblings...2 sisters and 1 brother. I adore each and everyone.
FH and I do not plan on having children, so I will be the best Aunt and Godmother I can be. My older sister is due in August and I can't wait to meet the new baby!!

I grew up in a super close family. I have 2 older sisters and we are all best friends. FH has 2 old brothers and is super close with his family as well. I can only hope that our children are as close to each other as we are with our siblings . I would love to have a 3 kids, but we will see!
