Hi ladies! So sorry that this is so late today! I was sooooo busy at work and just wanted to send this before I leave to go home.
So, I work in corporate America, like most out there. I've been in the industry that I am in for 12 years (I was 18 when the opportunity fell in my lap). Lately, I've been regretting picking this as my career and FH and I have been contemplating starting our own business which will allow me to be home more once we have children. My question to all of you is:
If you and FH were going to start your own business or already have, what type of business would it be?

We would start an electrical contracting company because DH is an electrician. I would be his bookkeeper/receptionist.

FH has his own business (he's a chiropractor) which is great. The career that I'm in (some of you know, most of you don't though ) is one that I WILL freelance and be on my own with after I have kids. The only hint I can give is that hopefully one day I will be an LIW vendor
And PS the reason I don't talk about 'what I do' is because I don't want LIW to be under the impression that I'm on here for business reasons-this is my entertainment/stress reliever!

We have two businesses and I currently work from home running them. His business has been making high end conducting batons for years now and I've been working in events for years now, originally for others and now on my own.

We always say we would love to open a high-end Greek restaurant, but we realize it would be a massive undertaking. I was in the restaurant business for 5 years, and I definitely know how NOT to run a restaurant, plus with my business acumen I think we'd actually have a fair shake. FH has a knack for snob appeal, and would be best as the idea man for decor and menu, and I'm the get it done and make it happen type....plus, I make sick drinks, and could always be the bartender as well

I hear you! I made a mistake and offered to do something for another bride via FM and got in trouble Now I just leave it out and keep my double life a secret Maybe someday we'll both be LIW vendors
Lucky girl, it must be nice that FH is a chiropractor! I could deal with free adjustments

That's awesome! One of my friends/coworkers runs a not for profit organization and rescues animals, he places the healty animals, keeps all the sick animals and treats them and cares for them (most of them have serious illnesses and other people would not be able to care for them) he also traps ferrel animals and neuters/spays them and releases them back out. He has 60+ cats that he cares for and 5 dogs. He and his wife don't have children and they decided that they wanted to put all of their efforts to the organization so they both work to keep the organization running. I think it's such an amazing thing that they do. They wake up at 4am to start caring for the animals and by the time he gets home from work, takes care of the animals and everything and does what he has to do its 12 or 1am! The organization is called People 4 Paws, look them up if you have a chance

That's funny, we have a couple of motorcycle shop owners in the family one in Nassau County and one in Daytona Beach, FL (my brothers shop). Good luck if you decide to do it
