So today's question comes from some of the answers I saw to yesterday's:
Are you having the wedding you always dreamed of or are ypu having the wedding FH or family wanted?
I am not one of those women that always dreamed about her wedding date. Honestly until I met FH I wasn't even sure marriage was in my future to be honest. When I did think of getting married I figured I would have a destination wedding on a beach somewhere just me, groom, & close family. Well little did I know I would fall for a Catholic Irish boy- he couldn't picture himself getting married & doing it small (or not in a Church). I now refer to my wedding as the circus lmao- it went from me wanting only 100 guests to it probably going to be close to 200guests. The funny part of it is I am loving every minute of planning it. I am surprised how happy I am that FH voiced what he wanted because I guess deep down inside it was what I wanted without even knowing it

A little bit of both. I was never the girl who always dreamed of her wedding but I knew I wanted a wedding. However, with all the the family drama I would have been very happy with a destination wedding (or heading to city hall then take a 3 week caribbean vacation and maybe have a small ceremony there as well.) FH is the oldest of 3 boys so in addition to not knowing if he would be the only one to get married he really wanted a big family wedding. My mom feels the same way. So, here I am pullig my hair out over all the financial cr@p and all the small details. But I do love it and am happy.

I'm definitely having a bigger wedding than I thought I would have. FH always wanted a pretty big wedding. I never dreamed of weddings when I was growing up or anything like that. I did think it would be a little bit more laid back than it's turning out to be, but now I'm excited for a big extravagant wedding!!

I too never imagined my wedding bc I never thought I would get married. I guess we are both happy with how it's panning out, but it definitely is bigger than I ever thought it would be. FMIL's guest list blew me away, but thankfully they are paying for their guests.

I think it's a little more of what I want.. but FH has given his input and is active in the decision making. :)

A little bit of both. I never really dreamed of a wedding. I actually am in the same boat as you where I never really thought I would even get married.
So.. now it's a mixture of what I wanted and what the families want.

I think that I always knew I always wanted a small wedding.
I wish I had the money to have what I have always wanted IE: Ice cream cake, wedding band.. but I will live.
BTW, I am still trying to figure out if I can get an ice cream cake :(

I am having the one I dreamed of...the FH is compromising with me because he always thought he'd be married in a church and I always wanted to be married outside. We're taking about doing something in his church for our one year anniversary as a compromise!

Re: ~*~*QOTD Wed 9/21*~*~
This wedding is all my own. I am a lucky girl in that my parents are helping us out tremendously with the finances, but are giving me complete creative control and only adding input when asked. Sometimes it makes me nervous, because I don't want the ideas which seem nice/together in my head to come out just NUTS! haha
Sadly my FH's mother passed away a few years ago, so no input (postive or negative) from that side, his dad has been pretty detached from the process. His brother and SIL have been supportive and helpful without being overbearing though!
That being said, I am going to have to throw my FH a bone or two, so far his ideas don't fit into my themes.

I dreamed of a basic big wedding and am so glad that I can spice it up with FH and my personality. When I saw other geeked out weddings I thought I could never pull it off. According to my mother I am not doing anything traditional and all I can say is thank goodness!

I'm def having my dream wedding. My parents and FHs parents have been great with letting us decide what we want for our wedding.
