Lets talk In-Laws, are you close to yours? Do you see them often? IS Fh close to them? How do their personalites or values differ from yours or FH?
: i am extremely close to FMIL, we talk probably 40 times a day, maily because we have a downstairs apartment in her house. She is a very caring person and very worrisome, which differs from the house i grew up in where everyone was very independant, so sometimes it makes it difficult when she is calling us 20 times when we are out asking if everything is okay and if we are safe, but that is who she is, so accept it, but it took alot of practice.

my inlaws are great...they have always accepted me and we see them often....they are totally different from my parents...FHs parents are younger and love to party and my parents are more reserved. Fh gets along great with my parents!

I am not as close as I would like to be with FMIL but when we are together we have a great time. She is really super sweet and I love her. But she never had a daughter (3 sons) so shes not into the small talk, wont just pick up the phone to say hi, etc.. Maybe I can break her in
I dont talk to FFIL. He has a drinking problem and scares me. I dont think I will ever talk to him. Im nice to him when I see him.. but Hi and goodbye are usually the extent of our conversations.

We live downstairs from my fmil & fsil so they always comes downstairs. She cooks for us and still does fh's laundry and when she see dishes in the sink she washes them, etc...its hard to communicate since she doesnt speak english but we try and she is really nice to me..fh says she likes me better than him, lol!!! and fsil is great and always has been...she goes with me to do stuff and has been helpful in the whole wedding process!!!

So far, I haven't been that close to the ILs but they live a little more than an hour away (nothing in NC geography) and I know we plan to see them fairly often. MIL is a little ... um... giggly? She's difficult to describe. I find her a little all over the place, but she has a very kind heart. FIL is very nice, but super shy. Not so much around me anymore, but I still wouldn't want to do anything to upset him.
DH is close with them and talks to them often (especially now with video chat, which is very cool).
Oh, I am close with SIL and her kids! Her husband is coming back from Afghanistan for 2 weeks from the army and we're going on a weekend vacation to Wiliamsburg with them!

We are not super close but when we are together we get along. It's just when they are all together they talk about stuff when they were younger and i kind of feel left out since i have no idea wth they are talking about lol. Recently it's been a little better though FMIL went with me for my 1st fitting and she helped me out alot which i am grateful for. My FFIL he's in his own world so we really don't speak much. FH is super close to them he talks to his mom everyday and he works with his dad.
They have pretty much the same values as us but FFIL is his own person and has done some things in the past in his marriage that were not the highlight of his life but overall when they are fine together they are the happiest couple you can see.

I get a little sad reading other peoples responses about how great their ILs are. Mine aren't at all. They are very cold, difficult people. Not at all like my warm, loving family. It's a good thing they live far away.
FH isn't close to them (it's impossible to be close to them). Thankfully he loves my family (I think he didn't know that a family was supposed to be warm and caring).

FH is close to his parents, even more his mom. FMIL and I get along great. She is a very nice person with a big heart. FFIL is good too, he sticks to himself alot though. We live about 2 miles away from them so we see them pretty often.

I have the most amazing ,caring, warm In-Laws.
Im very close with both of them and am treated like I am their daughter.
I feel very blessed because I knwo there ar so many Mom-in-law-zillias out there.

Love my FILS. I have to say I am blessed to have great future inlaws. They treat me as their own daughter.
FFIL got me the job I have now and FMIL is great. She always checks in with me to make sure Im ok etc. never oversteps her boundaries.

fh and i have known each other sine we r 12..so i knew his mom b4 we got together.. am very lucky that i am very close to his mom and brothers and he is very close with my famiy as well
we hang out with his bro an he hangs out with me n my sisters all the time
