Here is the QOTD:

What has been the BEST piece of advice/comment that you have received since being engaged?

On the flip side, what has been the WORST piece of advice/comment you have received since being engaged?

So far the best advice/comment has been from my mom and dad.

They have been nothing but supportive and excited for us! She told us both at dinner one Sunday 'as long as you both love, trust, and respect one another, that's all that you need.'

Ahh...the WORST comments...lol. There have been a few!

-'You guys aren't having a Viennese hour are you??? It's a complete waste of money!'

-I can't WAIT until you change your last name!!
( I have this friend who has this bizarre-o thing with double letter names..redic!)

- Why are you guys waiting so long to get married??? (as if we are committing the crime of the century!)

-'why is there sooooo much time between the church and the ceremony?? We DO have kids you know! '

Best Advice: 'Don't let people get you down, in the end it's your day & what you want matters most!'

Worst Advice: ??? I'll get back to you on this one. I tend to ignore most of the outrageous advice so I can't remember right now!

best advice : smile and nod at the idiots and then go about doing what you want anyway!

worst advice: I dont know if it was really advice, but I was told 'I bought a condo in FL for less money than your wedding'... nice.

Best advice- that the day is about me and FH, and not to stress over what everyone else thinks.

Worst advice- The one thing I really wanted was to be the only event at my RH, and a lot of people would tell me that was unnecessary. Good thing its my wedding

Best Advice: It's your wedding and its about what YOU and FH want. After all its a celebration of the love you have for eachother.

Worst Advice: Don't start looking for a house, wait a few years for that. Settle for a small apt.

I'd have to say the best advise was given to me by my mom WAY before I was engaged. She said don't get married too young. She was 18 and my father 17 when they married, and it didnt work out. But she got 2 awesome kids out of it LOL
If I had married the guy I dated for 6 years starting when I was 17, I'd definitely be divorced right now!

We're pretty early on in the wedding planning so I'm sure we will get some stupid advice soon. But I have to say we're pretty luck with our family and friends that they are really supportive of whatever we choose. Haven't heard any stupid comments yet. keyword.....yet

Best Advice: Do what you and FH want for this wedding and don't let anyone get in the way of your plans. In the end it's your day and it goes by fast so take advantage.

Worst Advice: Why spend all that $$ on a wedding when you can use that for a downpayment on a house?

Uggh Really?? No we are having a big wedding and we are paying for it so mind your business!!! Some ppl I swear!

I think the best I've gotten is to not rush and when it comes down to it it's all about FH and I and what we want.

The worst is probably the opposite, 'get married sooner, do everything traditional, forget about you guys, you have to do what's traditional'

Best: You will remember the things you compromised and wish they would have been the way you want but you won't care about the 'little extras' that you will realize after the wedding maybe weren't worth the money so if you think you really want something and can do it, you probably should.

Worst: Just don't tell FH. He really doesn't need to be involved in any of the planning.

Best advice:
- stay on top of wedding planning, but if you feel overwhelmed/stressed, take some time away from it
- enjoy being engaged and the planning because the time goes quickly!

Bad advice:
hmm don't know if I've gotten any bad advice.

Worst - Nothing really... Any advice I get I just take it with a grain of salt or I use it to my advantage!

Best Advice- Make your wedding about who you and your FH are and not about pleasing everyone else!

I do not know how many times I have heard you are really doing blue dresses and having orange in the flowers and bringing in the Mets to your wedding...... YES WE ARE! We are huge fans! I mean we got engaged in Citifield for g-ds sake!

Worst Advice- Just book the vendors who are cheapest!

I can't really think of it off the top of my head...but- I did have people who gave me the same advice

1---It's ONE day-- Spend as much as you neeed to make it something you've always dreamed of.

2-- it's ONE day--- Don't waste all of your money on one day.

the best advice has been enjoy the ride and take your time and don 't rush it.LOL

The worst advice all of it my family my mother mostly has been nothing but talking stuff about my back and sending me e-mails that are meant for someone else and putting my wedding down and saying that she would do it differently and that people are just yesing me to death.
