QOTD: What is your favorite part of being engaged.

Knowing that FI and I are en route to a lifetime. It really did change things after we got engaged in terms of the way we interact -- which shocked me, but it did. Opening joint accounts, moving in together...all of that to some extent, but something about the public declaration of it. Does anyone know what I mean?

I definitely know what you mean....Even though we dated for 5 years before we got engaged, I feel like we have grown so much more closer in the past year...I love it! We talk about a lot of more issues in detail since we got engaged (money, having kids, etc.). Tomorrow will be a year that we're engaged and I am happier than I have ever been!!

I was just so excited to be able to change the 'If we's' to 'When we's'.

We had been talking about getting married for about a year at that point, but it was just great to officially know that we were eventually going to officially be family

My favorite part is knowing that very soon I will be waking up next to him every day, and sharing everything with him!

fh and i had been talking about our future together for quite a while, so it felt really great to make it 'official'. i also felt like the engagement was making a sort of public statement about how much we love one another...

on the lighter side, being engaged has been so much fun!! it's been an excuse to get together with family and CELEBRATE!!!!! it's been a tough couple of years in my family (with my dad's illness and death), so to get everyone together for a joyous occasion has been fantastic for us all!

and the presents are fun too

FH and I were dating a long time too before getting engaged. The best part has to be, as you said, the formal declaration of our love for each other. Now everyone knows it is forever.

i love planning our life.. I call it nesting! Fh calls me weird

I also love running into people from Hs and whatnot and shamelessly flaunt my ring!!! HA HA

I like the fact that I now have proof that love at first sight exists. When I met JT, I instantly thought, 'I'm going to marry this guy!' I know it souds crazy, but I did. And I've dated a lot of guys before and I remember thinking how stupid it was that I thought that, but I was right. And it's always good when I'm right
I never once doubted that this is where our relationship would lead. I always knew, but like I said, it was confirmation that I wasn't crazy

I love my ring...when i look at it i think of how he proposed and it makes me smile! Reminds me of what a great guy he is.so thats my favorite part of being engaged!

FH finally moving into my home. I promised myself years ago that I would never live with a man unless we were engaged or married. I love having him here even though I had to give up half of my huge walk in closet He moves in permenantly the day after Thanksgiving!
oh, and the sex- its amazing....

I just read FH the post and he said he thought I would say not having to date anymore so true!
