Will you look at people while you walk down or keep your eyes glued on the groom?
For newlyweds...what did you do?
My Mom asked me this question and I said I have no idea.

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
The aisle at my church was long so when I first walked in, I could only see the guest. The second half, I looked at DH. Had a huge smile all the way down

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
I'm going to try and look at everyone and FH.
I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and the bride starred at the floor the entire time. I wanted to scream at her to look up but I think she was really nervous.

Your best bet is to do what comes naturally. Don't try to set your idea on one way or another. I didn't give it any thought but I looked at everyone as I passed and I was tempted to give high fives (but I was holding onto Mom and Dad). When I got to the middle of the aisle I looked at DH and the Rabbi and the Cantor and my bridal party and was continually overwhelmed by the whole thing. It's funny what you remember...

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
I was soooooooooo nervous that I thought I would fall over if I didn't look straight. My mom and dad walked me and thank God because I needed the support. The only face I remember seeing was Jill's (MsKitty1274) and it was because I specifically looked for her knowing her huge smile would calm me (we had discussed this previously ) and it worked! Then I looked straight ahead at DH...so much so that I have no idea who went to the church and I noticed that my aisle was decorated AFTER I saw pictures...nerves were a'ragin'!
ETA: My DH purposely avided looking at my eyes because he did not want to cry. But by the time I reached the altar we were both shaking!

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
My groom didn't come forward far enough so I didn't see him until the last few pews. I was so excited that I didn't realize that I couldn't see him until about halfway down- it didn't matter since the first moment he looked at me with the veil off my face is the one I will remember forever.

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
As I approached the alter I couldn't see DH at all because of photo, video etc. So he jumped up so he could see me. I was soooo nervous, I don't really remember, but I think I looked around because some people got pics of me looking at them.

Oh no, I hadn't thought of this! I will probably look at the groom, but I would think that I would want to look at others as well

I thought I was going to be crying and a big snotty mess, but all I did was just look at DH. Everyone and everything else was a blur. I don't even recall where anyone was sitting during the ceremony. It was like only me and DH and the minister were there LOL I can't wait for the video so I can see everyone else

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
Well, in addition to the 'please don't trip' mantra that I had going in my head, I mostly looked at DH and then glanced slightly to the side to smile at people. On my way back down, the first person I spotted and smiled at was Backinneyork!!

Re: QOTD: While walking down the aisle...
I don't know what I wound up doing! I'm told I smiled and looked around the room, but when my time to go up came, I felt kind of spacey, like this could not be happening. The spacey feeling went on most of the day actually. By the time I came back down to earth, they were wheeling out the cake, and the day was pretty much over.
I think my plan was to look at the groom and look around the room here and there.
