QOTD2: How many times have YOU been a bridesmaid?

Just curious to see how many of us have been thru it before, and what our experiences are.

I've been a bridesmaid once before, for my cousin's wedding in the Philippines. Things are done very differently there, and weddings can be planned REALLY fast! They decided on the dresses before I arrived, I was fitted the day after I got there, and had the dress in a week.

One of my best friends will hopefully be getting married in a few years- I can't WAIT to put all this knowledge to work for her. I have ideas for her shower and bachelorette party and all that good stuff- and she isn't even engaged yet!

I think i would make a good bridesmaid.

I'm counting 8 so far that I can think of/remember. I'm in another on in 2005, so that makes 9 dresses I'll never wear again! I was also a reader for a friend in 2001.

umm, twice I guess. I was a flowergirl in my mother's wedding when I was 6 - I felt that I should be the center of attention - not my mother

Then I was a Jr. Bridesmaid in my cousins wedding when I was 11. I loved it - I felt so important - especially when she asked me to do a reading. I was so nervous - but it felt great!

I have been a BM 3 times and a reader once. It's a fun experience to be so involved when you really care about the bride.

jr. bm in my cousins wedding a million years ago.

I was supposed to be my sister moh but she decided to have a rush wedding in las vegas and my parents wouldnt let me miss school so early in the year to go

Five times (all of my friends are married, I'm 34) but I had to decline at least four times. Either, I was already in one and the date would have been too close or it was OOT and since my Dad had a stroke I couldn't leave him. I also only said yes to people I felt really close too that's just me.

I was a bridesmaid when I was 10 years old when my mom was remarried and then my father was remarried.

I dont think that counts though!

Twice as a bridesmaid and once as a maid of honor. As the maid of honor, I was the only attendent, it was a really small afternoon wedding and I got to pick out my own dress. IT was no stress. As the bridesmaid, I had to buy the dress, one didn't even fit me and drove me nuts, but both experiences I lived out to town so I felt left out of stuff. It was hard.

i have beena bridesmaid in 5 plus one more in April 05. I have been pretty lucky none of the dresses were that bad...

I was in 1 wedding and that was 13 years ago. Other than that, zippo - I feel like I'm the first of my friends to get married also.

Only once before - but to be honest it really wasnt a great friend of mine. She was my roommate when I was in school overseas and she married my ex boyfriend, who also happens to be my FI's best friend. So all in all it was kind of an awkward situation... but other than that, I' m also pretty much the first one of my friends to get married.

Jan05 - youre a pro!!!
