How many of you are selling your dresses after your wedding? Why or why not?
My mom bought mine, so if I sold it I dunno if she would like that - and if I told her / asked her what she thought about it if I did, she might want the $, I have no idea! I think I will keep it but really -- it's just going to sit in a box ... not sure that makes sense ... I will have the memories / pictures / etc.
What do you girls think you will do?

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
I always wanted to have my gown made into my daughters communion dress BUT my gown isn't white (pearl white) so I don't know if that will work. I think I will keep it...I don't know why but I feel like I should

I am going to preserve and box mine, but it is still hanging on the door in the spare bedroom! I guess I'll get around to it someday

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
def. wanna keep mine... my grandmother's dress is at her sister's house from 53 years ago (they both wore it) and i love the fact that i can go there and see it and try it on..especially now that i myself am getting married!! i may even have a piece of the material taken to have it sewn inside my dress. Don't know if my kids or grandkids will feel that way..but i def. wanna save it

I'm definitely going to save mine. No one in my family has theirs and they all regret it.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
I am going to save mine. If my mother had saved hers I would have worn it ( if it fit, she was tiny! LOL )
I MIGHT make a christening gown out of it or a communion dress ( my mother is a seamstress ) BUT I really do want to save it for my daughter if I have one, even if she just wants to use some of the lace on her own dress.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
I think I'm going to donate it. A friend of mine donated her wedding dress to someone in Poland. Not sure we'll have kids, and just don't have the space to keep it. My cousins and sister all still have theirs preserved and have never even looked at it again.

My mom bought mine too. She actually told me to sell it since I wont ever wear it again. They have websites and all for this!

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
im keeping it for now and figuring out what to do with it later...maybe we'll take casual fun pics sometime after the wedding.
if we have a girl maybe use pieces of it to make her something for her baptism or communion or something.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
Im not usually a sentimental person...but I cant imagine selling my dress...I'll probaly preserve it with the hope that my daughter or someone in my family will want to wear it in the future.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
My dress is also hanging in the spare bedroom. I am not too sure what I want to do with it. I definitely wont sell it, but I might keep it around just in case i have a girl to make her communion dress with.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
I would of sold if my plan wasn't to make them into a communion dress and head piece and maybe a pillow if there is enough fabric. I am currently looking into getting my jacket dyed black so I can wear that again sometime in late Nov./Dec.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
I'm keeping mine. My mom bought it and I love that she still has her gown (I can't possibly fit in it but my sister can). I may want to do day after pics or something too so I haven't preserved it yet. I just like the idea of having my dress in case I have a daughter or niece.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
i thought about selling mine, but when i told my dad that, i thought he was going to cry. he bought me the dress, and i didn't even think that he'd get upset if i sold it. i did preserve it, but i think i'll end up making christening outfits for our children with my dress.

I want to keep mine. It's just something that I want to have forever. I want to get it preserved.

Re: QOTN (question of the night)
Definitely saving! I was able to try on my mom's dress which was really fun, we got a kick out of it... Even if I have a daughter and she likely wont want to wear it, it would be fun to see her in it!
