Good Morning lovely ladies.....Todays question is.........Once everyone has little kiddies , do u plan on taking off the 3 months that most jobs give u or will u take the first year off????
I will probably go back to work immediately , I work for my fathers construction compmany so im very fortunate to be able to bring my children with me to work.. my sister does it now , she brings her new born to work everyday which is great ...I would probably go stir crazy being home 24/7

Re: QOTQ 2/19
I am going to do the three months and then get back to work. Unfortunately we depend on my salary for bills and savings so although I would love to take more time off I just can't. I am hoping my parents retire when I have kids so someone can watch them

I am going to take the three months and possibly either work part-time or full time depending. We will see. My Mother is helping my sister right now while my sister works full time. So, I know my Mom will do the same for me!

Re: QOTQ 2/19
im going to take off for about 10 years!! ill go back to work when they are in junior high. fortunately, FH owns his own family business and we will be able to function with just his salary.
if i do have to work (ill be a teacher)...ill go back as soon as i need, subbing at first, then a permanent position.

Re: QOTQ 2/19
Since I am a teacher I don't get time. Teachers have to plan to have a baby during the summer or save the sick days. For the most party they say we have plenty of time off so if we are having kids we need to plan them when we are off. I know its crazy. Natuarlly it is not that simple so I am saving my sick days now just in case!

I haven't really thought about it, but I would like to raise my kids instead of leaving them with my mom (which she is praying for lol)
I guess it depends on the bills and how much we will need 2 salaries -- I would def consider doing the substitute teacher thing instead of going back full time though

Since I'll be tenured by the time we have kids I hope to be able to take the first year off and then go back to work. As a teacher, I would do afterschool tutoring jobs for extra money if we really needed it, but we're depending on being financially stable before having kids.

Probably only 3 months. As much as I'll love spending time with my little one, I don't think I could be home that long!

Re: QOTQ 2/19
Well I already experinced this. I was home for the 1st 2 yrs but, that was under different circumstances. When we have 'our' kids I hope to stay home for as long as I can and maybe work part time else where til I can go back full-time at the school. My mom will be able to watch the baby 1 day during the week and I'm hoping his mom can do 1-2 days, it'll make things easier. Even though I work at a pre-school and we take 3 months and up I dont want him or her there til their older.

I wish I could take off more time, but as of now it looks like I would have to go back to work immediately. But hey, you never know. We aren't planning on kids for a while anyway.

Re: QOTQ 2/19
I'll most likely take the 3 months given to me, unless FH insists that i stay home longer and we're able to get along financially.
I really want to be a stay at home mom, but it will be extremely hard to do that living on long island.

Re: QOTQ 2/19
I hope to take the 3 months off, and then work part time after. I dont want my kids to be brought up in day care but I also dont want to look back on my life later on and wish I kept my own identity outside of family, so I plan to find a balance in the two.

Re: QOTQ 2/19
Well I guess its going to depend on a bunch of things. Right now we're dependent on my salary so it would have to be 3 months. But seeing that I'm definitely waiting at least another 2 to 4 years after we get married to have kids I don't know where we'll be. I know i'll definitely want to get back to work though. Maybe i'll try and do somethign where I don't go back full time right away and work a bit from the office and a bit from home...but thats a longgggg time away!!

Re: QOTQ 2/19
i want to hopefully plan it at a time where i can take a long amount of time off....for my daughter i went to work when she was 7 months old, and FH and i worked opposite schedules, so while i worked he was @ home w/her.....while he worked i was @ home with her...so it worked out great.

Re: QOTQ 2/19
ideally i won't have to work after we have children, but that all depends on when we start! if it was up to FH, we wouldn't start until i was 30 (i'm 25 now) but i would like to start at around 28.

Re: QOTQ 2/19
It all depends where we are finacially. I would love to stay home with my children till they are in school and then get a part time job or something. But that's prob not going to happen!
