Why did I just find out from a friend that QBC is closed.....bankrupt.........meanwhile.......my proofs are still there!!!!!!! ......long story short they are closed and gave all their existing customers to another photography place in massapequa. get this..........we all have to pay an additional fee if we would like this new photgraphy store to make our albums. I am so disgusted at this point.! Anyone else use them?

shame on the other place for charging you guys extra for your pics. i heard on the boards that QBC just kind of left in the middle of the nite from their locations
i wonder if there is a way for you to sue them for the recovery of the extra money that you have to pay. i bet there is. its not your fault that they went bankrupt!

This whole thing sickens me. I'm still waiting to hear back from Jilcrest to see if they found my film, negatives, proofs or whatever. Thank god, I refused to pay in full until I got some of my pictures so I have a few hundred dollars that weren't lost, but I definately already lost money & I'm going to lost more trying to get an album & all of the prints I signed the contract for. Ugh. At this point, I won't complain as long as they find my pictures. I want my memories.

Now see I knew something was funky about them. I bashed them every chance I could get because I cancelled my contract with them awhile back before my wedding and went with another company because of their unprofessionalism. Loss my deposit but thanks God not my memories.
I feel so sick for you ladies. I know how it feels due to me not getting my video because of situation close to this one. And this new place should not be charging anything extra. How dare they not warn their customers about this. I hope things work out for you all.

I paid the $50, got my negs, and then reported Jil Crest to the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) so that I can get my $50 refunded. It is unscrupulous for them to charge people money for their own property.
QBC should have Fed Exed the negs to everyone. I'm sure Beth and her dad could have dipped into their personal money to do this, even if the corporation went bankrupt. People would get over the loss of money, if QBC were respectful of people's memories. Does anyone have contact info for Beth or her dad?

Good for you for reporting JC. I'm still waiting to pick up my proofs. I don't trust JC at all.

Hi all! I want to let everyone know that I emailed the BBB. They said they really couldn't help but did give me the bankruptcy case numbers and even the number to their attorney! If you would like that number please email me. I called and left a message yesterday and still have yet to hear back. But hey, it doesn't hurt to try. Also, please email fox 5 news. The woman Deborah has been so helpful and is looking into doing a story. The more people that email her, the better chance we have of exposing these scam artists! Good luck
Hi all. My husband say this is illegal. If you have a contract they can NOT charge you more. The other photographer bought your contracts and there fore must honor them. He says you should report them to the Attorney General. They will get on this and straiten it out. The BBB can't do anything but post a bad rating on them. Good luck.

That is AWFUL!!! I'm so sorry for you ladies who have to go through this. I remember meeting with them for photography and thinking they were the most unprofessional people I've ever met in my life. Thankfully I did not choose them.... If i did... i'd be in the same boat as the rest of you. So Sorry and good luck getting your albums made elsewhere!

I know it's been two months since you posted, I'm wondering what the outcome has been. I just found out today about the bankruptcy and I'm nervous about what it means for my pictures/albums they owe me. Fortunately, I have my proofs from them, but not the negatives, enlargements, or albums.
