Ques. for Vanderbilt Mansion Brides

Ques. for Vanderbilt Mansion Brides

Did you use a band or DJ? My fiance and I are booked at the VB Mansion and would like a band but the space they give for a band/Dj looks small for a band. Has anyone fit a band in there? How many piece band/which band did you use? How did it work out? Thanks.

We had a 7 piece band and we put them in the right corner of the bottom of the T shaped room. We only had tables along the left side of the room and at the top of the T, but not along the right side of the room to create a bigger dance floor. It worked out well for us - we had 12-13 tables in total.

Here are some pictures to help you visualize:

Wow that setup looks great. If you don't mind me asking... How many guests did you have. I think I may look into only putting tables on one side of the room to create more dance floor. Where the table squished together? How many at a table?

Yes that set up looks different. My wedding is there May 28th and I am concerned about the size of the dance floor. Where did you put the dais?

I am also concerned about getting too big a band for the space.

Did Maryann also tell you guys about the DJ with a few live pieces?

We ended up have about 125 guests. The tables were fine and not squished at all. We had 8-10 people per table. We did not have a dais. We sat at a regular table with some of our wedding party at one of the center tables in front of the fireplace.

Sorry such a late response. I come on infrequently to the boards these days.
