I'm getting married 2/7/04 at the Watermill. We blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express b/c they provide a shuttle to and from the reception when you book 10 rooms. We will easily have this. my ques: did any of you block rooms at the Wyndam or anywhere else? are youstaying where your guests stay or are you going somewhere else?

we are getting married at the watermill in april next year. we blocked rooms at the holiday inn express in hauppauge also becuse of the shuttle bus. but then we looked around a bit and found that the courtyard marriot in ronkonkoma (which is about 1/2 a mile farther than the holiday inn) has better prices and a abr and restaurant. since we are having a day wedding, we wanted to make sure there was some place our guests could go back to and relax. so we have rooms blocked at both hotels, but we're using the marriot for ourselves....and recommending them first to guests. hope this helps! good luck!!!

Hi, I'm also getting married in April at the Watermill. This might sound like a silly question but, when you block off rooms, do you pay for that? Or, is it something you just reserve?

My block is at the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge. I opted for them because of the shuttle bus. I've been trying to get in touch with the Courtyard Marriott in Ronkonkoma and after three tries, still no luck getting someone to call me back.
Most hotels will allow you to block room at no charge. Some might actually give you a discount based upon the amount of rooms that are sold under your block. Every hotel is different though so it is best to call and check it out.

I AM NOT HAVING MY RECEPTION AT THE WATERMILL BUT I AM BOOKING ABOUT 25 ROOMS AT THE HOLIDAY INN IN RONKONKOMA, THAT IS ALSO WHERE THE RECEPTION WILL BE TOO. BUT YES WE ARE STAYING THERE AS WELL THAT NIGHT BUT THEY WILL NOT KNOW WHICH ROOM WE ARE IN.

I booked a block of room at the Islandia Marriott. The rooms were less and the hotel I feel offered a lot more, restaurant, bar, bigger suite, etc.
