i just got engaged, 10/25/08 and we're planning on being married 5/30/10.. now- i'm seeing all you girls with your reception halls booked already and some of you aren't getting married until october 2010. am i going to be able to actually get a place that i want or will it all be booked up by now? i thought 18 months was EARLY to book a place.

You shouldn't have a problem booking a place, but i would definitely start looking now, considering we are just the brides that are logged on here, there are more brides out there that are also planning weddings.
Alot of us have things planned, because we wanted them done, so we could start paying them off

You definatly still find a place. I, personally got engaged last December and booked my RH in February. I wanted to get the date, time and room I WANTED, which was the reason I wanted to book so early. When we were looking in February though some places already had weddings booked for November 2010...some girls start really early.

it depends. how many people are you having? is it one of the more popular RH's? you should be ok with finding a place, but I would book ASAP.

You should be okay but I would definately start looking. Things book up fast and you want to get the most current price.

You'll be fine, plenty of my friends booked their weddings inside of 6 months... it just means you have to be more flexible with what you want,that's all.
Personally,we just needed more time to pay for the RH so we booked early.

Don't worry, I think you will be fine. It is plenty early enough for you to find a hall. You are getting married on a holiday weekend (like me!) so I would start now. But you aren't behind!

but not too far after the holidays bc sooo many people get engaged for x-mas/new years i think places will start to book up!

if you are flexible with the date you should be fine. even if you cant get the exact day you want you might be able to get the following weekend. i started early because i needed to get married on one particular date......and i wasnt budging :)

I wouldn't worry, it's an advantage to booking early that you have stuff open but my cousin is getting married the same weekend as you in May '09, got engaged right before us in July and booked everything without a problem. It's helpful if you're a little flexible in terms of what's available but you will be alright, this site makes me feel like I'm behind sometimes but in reality we have plenty of time, although it's true with all the engagements that will be popping up for Christmas if you have your heart set on a certain date and a certain place, or type of place, I'd set up the RH sooner rather than later.

5-30-10 is hard to find i know a lot of places that do one wedding at a time are all booked on that day cuz its the holiday weekend. we just book at Crest Hollow for that day and were lucky cuz we went to about 15 places that were booked there already

You should be fine but I suggest that you start looking at places after thanksgiving and pretty much have your mind made up and book right after christmas because so many people get engaged for christmas!!

I would start looking asap. There are places booking 2011 already. If you definitely want that date and are not flexible, I would start looking. Or maybe you should start making a list of the places you want to see, this way you can at least narrow it down.

if you want something very specific (like date or room) you should book before the holidays. there are always a lot of christmas & new years engagements.

fh and i decided to book earlier then we needed to because we wanted 2008 prices for 2010 wedding. i dont know if money is somethng you need to worry about, but that is definetly the reason why we booked early
