We have decided to have a small engagement party (an informal BBQ, just close friends and fam, no gifts)....at the BBQ we want to ask the people who we choosen to be BM's and Ushers.
I wanted to do something creative and thought it would be cute for the BM's to put a pic of me and her in a small frame and write a special note to her in a card asking her to be a BM....is this LAME?????
Anyone have any other ideas?

I think it is really cute. I have already told my BM that I want them to be part of it....I just want to announce them to the family. We are also having a small intimate affair...church basement, food, beer and cake.
I have been throwing ideas around for the past week and here is what I am going to do. I am going to leave a ceramic jewelry box with their names on them....2.00 bucks each at the Rag Shop...I wrote the names in paint marker and write a personalized letter inside for each of them. I will go around and just place them in front of the girls right before we toast to our family and BP. Then announce them.
And there's always the 'Will you be my bridesmaid cards?'
Thanks so much...I just order these cookies for my BM's I cannot wait to get them!!!! I am so excited

I think that is a great idea. I'm quite sure all of your wedding party will agree about being part of it. But I think you should give them time to think about it and somehow I feel you are putting them on the spot by asking them right there. JMO
