question....

I just recently booked my dj and i was wondering how everyone felt about the intelligent lights. as of now we have them booked but i don't know if they are necessary or not. when you all booked your dj what extras did you request (find important) ?

we have a pianist, mc, dj, percussionist and intelligent lighting.....

Congrats...one less thing to do!!
It all depends on the atmosphere you want to create. I feel that intelligent lighting tends to make the wedding feel a little more like a club. I am not doing them because I think it takes away from the elegance. A DJ I talked to also mentioned that it can be harsh on the eyes of guests that are sitting down. There are small lights that you can do that go on top of the speakers. You might want to ask your DJ about these.

Re: question....

My FH wanted the intelligent lighting he really loves lights (I know as silly as that sounds) I think it really is a matter of what you want. It is definetly not necessary I just think it's different and cool.

Re: question....

I personally do not think it is a necessary extra to include. With that being said we are having it just because the packages my dj offers has the light show included.

Re: question....

My FH wants the lights so we requested them along with 2 plasmas (we want to show us saying our vows on them for the guests who couldn't make it to the church along with photo montages). We're still debating over a percussionist.

Re: question....

I didnt book the intelligent lights b/c I felt they were a rip off. My DJ has the normal lighting system and I feel that is enough. Any more to me is too clubby for wedding

We got the intelligent lights b/c we like the club scene look and we have a fun crowd who will enjoy it. it is up to u and the crowd. I think it makes the dance floor fun and funky

Re: question....

we got 2 plasmas and the intelligent lighting...this is an area FH was really loving so it was his decision, my room has all mirrors on one side, so with the lighting its gonna look sick...i think its all a matter of preference

Re: question....

i like the idea of a clubby feel - esp towards the end of the night...
