Re: Question???
FH and I got engaged in March and we are getting married in September, so it's a short engagement. His sister was married last summer, and his cousin just got married two weeks ago. This weekend is his other cousin's wedding. We asked everyone first if our very short engagement would be an issue, but everyone was very supportive, including the two brides-to-be. It's kind of sad, but we really are brides for just one little day anyway... so the more weddings, the better! We can soak up the wedding atmosphere and remember our own dream weddings, no?

Re: Question???
My MOH was my brother's fiancee and they got married about six weeks after we did. Honestly, it was great to vent and discuss wedding planning with her!

Re: Question???
My sister and I are getting married within 1.5 years of eachother. It leaves for enough time. One of her BM's decided a 4 months before her wedding to get married a month before her and have the same wedding party. That made planning things a big PIA, but in the end it was fine.

I agree...thanks!!! I guess I had a moment of selfishness
Dont worry about it! We all do!!! I actually have a few people in my wedding getting married a couple months before and a couple months after me and you just make the most of having friends around who are also wedding obsessed. in a lot of ways its great cus they understand when you freak out about something stupid like napkin colors.

Re: Question???
i would only be upset.. ONLY.. if her wedding was so close to mine that i could not attend her wedding cause i was still on the honeymoon from mine.
other than that. i'd be happy for her and for being able to have someone to plan with

I thought maybe my situation might make you feel a little bit better.... my Fh and I have been engaged for three years and finally set a date in december for our July 08 wedding. FH's brother and fiance recently got engaged and decided to book for a MONTH after! Oh, and my maid of honor also recently became engaged and is booked for 3 months after me. I don't mind that so much as I do the very next month with the same family involved. I understand why you feel how you feel, but try to not let it ruin the happiest time of your life. And, I will try to take my own advice
FH and I got engaged in Jan. and his brother proposed to his girlfriend 2 months later. Then their mom through a joint welcome home for their other brother from Iraq (he was on RandR) and Engagement party for the 4 of us! Then she just talked about his brother from Iraq the whole time and didn't even mention the engagement. Maybe Im a little off topic here, but they decided to get married the following Jan. so I'm fine with that. But Im not crazy about joint parties! We weren't even congratulated separately!

I can relate, one of my 'good' friends got engaged a year after me and with full knowledge of when my wedding was, decided to get married the night BEFORE my wedding. To add to it, her BM dresses are from the same place mine are (ordered after me), same color, same material. Maybe all our friends will think they are at the same very long wedding.

Re: Question???
i honestly don't think it matters at all. i know we brides tend to think that it does - but every wedding is unique in it's own way. my cousin (well my second cousin - not immediate family) & i were less than a month a part...it was like going to two completely different parties. dont' worry about it...especially if she's ur MOH....dont let something petty ruin the joy of planning ur wedding or hers...or your relationship with her at one of the most important & happiest time of ur life! Do your thing & don't worry about it! We actually had fun sharing our ideas, and just being excited together....it was nice to have someone who genuinely cared about 'wedding talk'! lol.
