How early are you guys getting to your Reception...my place wants to charge me $200/hr to come in early. Is that insane?

Re: Question
My ceremony started at 11:30am and I was told by my catering manager that I should be there at 9:30am. I showed up at 10:30am late.

Re: Question
At the Eastwind I was told I could only be there 1/2 hour early. But that's okay since I don't think I am going to attend the main cocktail hr (I want to wait to be introduced )

Re: Question
My mass ends at 3 p.m, I figure by the time we take pictures, leave and drive there (which is about 40 minutes from the church) it should be about 4:30 - 4:45 p.m. Me and my guests can arrive at that time and at 5:30 p.m., pre-cocktail hour (cookies, coffee, etc.) will be served.

Re: Question
I would definitely check this out. Do you want the cocktail hour to start early, or just arrive early to take pictures? If all you're doing is taking pictures, there shouldn't be a fee

Re: Question
WOW - that is insane!
I am going to my reception hall 4 hours before my cocktail hours for pictures before the ceremony. My Hall was very cool about it - they said as long as they did not book another event they did not have a problem with us arriving early for pictures.

Re: Question
I just want to get there early to take pictures. I have been talking to Flowerfield and Florinda told me that I could get their a bit earlier than planned and they would not charge me. I thought that was nice of her.

Re: Question
You shouldnt get charged for coming in early. They're lucky people rent the facility for weddings. I would call and complain. Whats fair is fair and you have paid them enough.

Re: Question
Thats crazy for them to charge you. Oh how I don't want to ever go through the actual wedding planning again. What the heck. I got married at Coral House and we were allowed to go 2 hours early but my cake people they were there like 8:30 in the morning.
