So, I have heard from people that you can't wear red to a wedding. Have you heard this? If you have heard this, can you tell me why? I don't think this is true!

Re: Question???
I've heard this too, but not sure why. I think it's you can't wear it to a funeral not a wedding and somehow it got mixed up.

Re: Question???
I wouldnt wear red, b/c I'm pallid and it would make me look dead, however, I didnt realize it was taboo. I'd only steer clear if it, I think, if I knew the BP was in red.

Re: Question???
I've never heard it before and I've worn red to weddings and no one ever said anything about it being inappropriate. It may be true, I've never heard that.

Re: Question???
i have heard this several times. The reason seems to be that red is a very attention grabbing color and you shouldn't wear it b/c it takes attention away from the bride.
However, I think the 'rule' only applies to RED RED RED ... if that makes sense. and I can sort of understand it. Red is a very striking and eye catching color.
I see why some brides wouldn't be happy if someone showed up in a super sexy red dress.

Re: Question???
I have never heard this, but I have heard that it's the worst thing you can do at a funeral. I know obvi you're supposed to wear black, but I was listening to a talk radio show the other day andn they were saying that when Italian women are really pissed off they say stuff like 'I'm going to wear red to her funeral!'

Re: Question???
I've never heard that either. I love red, but probably wouldn't wear it figuring I (or actually the color lol)would stand out to much.

Ive heard this before about it taking away from the bride. I know in Oriental weddings its traditional or something like that.

Re: Question???
I've only heard this if the bride/groom is asian (more so the bride). Red is our lucky color and most brides traditionally will change into a red dress during the course of the wedding. So you're not supposed to wear red since the bride will be wearing red at some point in the night.

that's the reason i've heard also.. although i don't think anything could take away from the beauty of a bride on her wedding day
