When do you register? How soon before the big day?

I registered as soon as I got engaged so I could get engagement gifts. If I were you I would think about starting to register soon. Your shower will probably be in the next few months.

I was told to do it as soon as possible, because people will want to buy engagement gifts. Might as well get stuff you want.

We registered in May for our December wedding. I think you are ok, but stick to things that aren't seasonal, and don't do things yet like bedding and towels. Those change each season like clothes. I think you are ok still though!

I'm not registering until about a year before the wedding. You never know what's going to be discontinued if you do it too early.

You can update whenever you want. I had my list months before we got engaged - i was bored and all my friends were wedding planning, so i figured why not?

We started in Nov but didn't finish until Jan....when mom and FMIL started saying YOU BETTER FINISH! Nobody bought anything until the Shower invites went out anyway (except for my grandma and maybe like 1 other person....). Your shower will probably be in the late summer I would think (not THAT soon!).....so maybe decide where and start putting stuff on, you can always add more later.

We waited to do bedding and towels until the seasons changed (that's why we didn't finish until Jan!) and haven't had any problems.
