Question

My FH and I went to a Bridal Expo a couple weeks ago at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale.

We filled out the raffle ticket at the door ( at the time I had no clue what I filling out, but I just entered into every drawing anyway)

Turns out, I got a call today saying that we won the 3 day, 2 night vacation to one of over 20 locations. (Honolulu, Vegas, Palm Springs, Mexico, Bahamas, etc)

We just have to go pick it up on Friday- answer some survey questions and be on our merry way.

My question is: Should I be wary? Has anyone ever been in a situation like this before and is there anything I should be looking out for?

I know its awful but I am so jaded that I find it to good to be true that this truly is with no strings attached.

Re: Question

From my experience most of these things are a scam. We won $500 for something I don't even remeber who it was through, but they said to come down and pick stuff out and that would call us back tell us where to go. If they are reputable wouldn't they have been able to tell me right then and there!!?? I would definetly say it is a scam!!

Just to add on here...sometimes you need to buy something in order to get the 'free' gift.

Re: Question

Well, she said there was absolutely no obligation to purchase anything.

I guess the worst that could happen would be that its a waste of my time.

Re: Question

I got the same exact call. I did a search on goggle, and one on here as well. After doing some research I decided it was a scam.

Re: Question

I'm pretty sure everyone who enters that wins. I got a call that I won a few months ago. I got really excited when they told me the prizes, but then when they said you had to go to a seminar, I was completely turned off. It sounded like a scam to me.

Yup and I fell for it! They do send you the cookware (thank god!) but its not worth going thru all that nonsense for a free cruise and a free trip. if ur still curious. you can go there fill out the survey and still get the trip but not the cruise and discount off the cookware. I have obviously learned my lesson but the cookware is pretty amazing though at least for now.

Re: Question

I have 'Won' things like that too. Sorry to be a bummer but we both had to go and pick the things or trip up. Also, had to give them personally info and it wasnt as good as it seemed at first. Sorry.

Re: Question

I went. You have to sit through this long presentation about cookware. You don't have to buy anything though. So, we didn't. We got our free vacation voucher and a $500 coupon to shop on line. Would I ever do it again? Absolutely not.
