QUESTION

Are you planning to send out Thank You cards to EVERYONE who you invited or just those who attended and sent gift? We are doing something different....we are sending out DVDs with highlights from our wedding, which will be kind of expensive so is it rude to just send to those you attended/sent gifts?

Re: QUESTION

I don't think it is necessary to send thank yous to people who didn't attend and didn't send a gift. If they did send a gift even if they didn't attend the wedding, I would definitely send them a thank you.

I would not send a thank you/dvd to people that did not come or send a gift.

Re: QUESTION

Just something to consider - maybe you only want to send the video to really close family and friends?

It seems expensive to send to everyone in attendence or to those who sent a gift. do you think everyone would want and appreciate this generous offering?

No offense, I love the idea - but me and DH went to 7 weddings this year and only 1 was for people we are really really close to, the others were just friends. I really only think I would appreciate this type of thing from the 1 couple we were closest too. It would save a lot of money to limit the number you had to buy and pay to mail. JMO

Re: QUESTION

If it was up to me if they came I would send the DVD thank you. If they didnt come and sent a gift I would send a regular thank you. Thats just me since the DVD is expensive!

Re: QUESTION

we are sending a thank you to anyone who came and/or sent a gift. its a thank you, so you really don't thank people for not coming. and some could see it as a nudge to get a gift if they didnt send one.

I agree. If someone got a 'thank you' card from you who didn't attend and didn't send a gift, they might take it the wrong way and think you were throwing it in their face that they didn't get you anything.

I also agree with another poster who suggested sending the DVDs to the ones that actually came to the wedding, but just a regular TY to those who sent a gift but didn't come.

Re: QUESTION

I agree with all the brides here. I would only send a thank you to people that sent or gave a gift. If they don;t send a gift they don't deserve a thank you LOL!!!!
