Re: question

That is a great idea, maybe ask your BM and if they say it is possible see if the church you are getting married in would want it for their soup kitchen, or see if another soup kitchen would want the food.

The Church might take your flower to decorate the alter.

Good Luck

Re: question

I think RH actually do this!

Re: question

a lot of RH and soup kitchens will not accept this.

The RH doesn't want to be held liable if something happens to the food after it leaves their premises.

Check with them before locating a donee

Re: question

Most RH do not allow you to take home food. I was told that it has something to do with the health dept. Apparantly catering has different rules than restaurants. Call your BM to be sure.

Re: question

The United Way has a program where the have refrigerated trucks pick up the extra food. Look it up on their website or give them a call. I know they do it for sure on Long Island my mom did a fund raiser for them and this was one of the main programs they highlighted.

Re: question

my friend who got married this past July had a TON of food leftover after hers. But she just took it all with her and froze it. It lasted them a good while. She was relieved to not have to cook. haha. But I like the idea of donating it.

As for the flowers - I'm probably gonna try to dry my bouquet out and save 'em. I'm not getting flowers for the church, it's already gonna be decorated for Christmas

Re: question

my RH said they donate it... wouldn't let me take more than 2 extra dinners home, which I was disappointed in.. would have loved some of my extra CH food that I didn't even get to taste

Re: question

a lot of funeral parlors donate flowers to nursing homes. you may want to call a nursing home or two and see if they can recommend a volunteer organization to donate to.

I fell the same way about my family

I have a feeling if I book CLM they will stuff themselves silly since they offer seconds on the main course
