do the invites match the place cards?cause i think i found a site with invites that i like but no placecards so they would have to be similar but not the same..does that even matter lol?

Re: question..
doesn't matter at all! Ours matched because I was obsessed with the fonts on our invitation, found them online and then used them for our menus, favors, placecards, table numbers, programs, etc. Also, our invitation was on ivory linen paper and I found similar paper for our programs, menus, placecards, etc.
Other than that, they were totally different! FM me if you want to see pictures
You do not need to match them at all, so if you found invites you love then go for it!

I agree that it doesn't matter. I also think by the time the guests are at the wedding looking at the placecards they will have forgotten what the invitations looked like. Or maybe that's just me.

I went to a wedding this summer and noticed that the placecards matched the programs and the invitations.... but they were just basic white with a shimmery border and the same font. I am anal about layout and fonts and colors and I was also planning by own wedding at the time. I'm probably the only one who noticed

I think you're right - people notice the details. ESPECIALLY while planning their own wedding. We did go to a wedding a few months back and I was taking mental notes of things (obviously not mentioning them aloud) and I was noticing discrepancies in colors and details and such. Prior to wedding planning, I couldn't tell you ANYTHING about the weddings I've been to. Now, I could visualize everything down to the cocktail napkin of a recent wedding.

Re: question..
I like them to but it doesnt have to. Just find something in the same color scheme or design if possible. So it looks like it could be a set. if thats the look u want.
Also, if you want to you could always put your invite in a pretty frame in the middle of teh placecard table instead of a pic of u guys 7 that way people can remember everything. For me i remember all fo those details so it totally matters.

Re: question..
people are not going to walk in carrying your invitation. Men will never even notice so you thinking will the girls know. I don't think it matters. 90% of the time the place cards are basic white or ecrue and that is fine. They just go in the garbarge once they find out their table number.
Don't stress. If you want them to match that is fine too but nothing worth going crazy over.
PS the only reason we have been noticing these things is because we are getting married. I have never paid much thought to menus, place cards, etc. When I go to a wedding I remember the food and the band and the alcohol. that is it!

Re: question..
I dont think that the invites necessary have to match the place cards. With me I stuck to the color scheme though, My invites were cardstock (chocolate brown and pink) and my place cards were votive candles with a brown and pink ribbon on the bottom. If you like it go for it!!!
