I went to a bridal salon and found a dress i love but i am alittle nervous about ordering it there. The lady I had helping me didnt help me at all. I had an appointment and i had to ask to see the dress with a veil at least three times. She didnt even pin my dress. I was standing there holding it. Even when the place was empty i had to walk in the dress to look for her. Advice ladies? Should i give them another shot or look into another place? Maybe it was just her?

Re: Question
I would probably check other places that carry that designer and see what they charge..and check out their customer service.
I personally don't care..I like to be left alone to get into the dress and then come out to be zipped but customer service is important too..if you want help and you need to hunt them down that is not saying much for the store

I usually like to be left alone too lol but this lady was like no where to be found for the majority of the time.

Re: Question
Whether or not I have them another chance would depend on the reputation the store has... if it's spotty anyway, I'd prob be resigned to going elsewhere... if it's good, I'd give them another shot, but I'd probably still price the dress elsewhere and evaluate other places' customer service.
Sometimes you just get a bad apple, you know? A place can be awesome, but sometimes the one person helping you is having a bad day or is just not a good employee. Which is why I say rely on the reputation of the place.

Then I would shop around and see if you can get the gown at a comparable price at a place with a good rep... my concern would be my alterations and if I'll have problems with those, KWIM?

Re: Question
Seriously, you need to like the people at the place you order your dress. I ordered a dress at this one place last year for a wedding I was in (BM dress) and the customer service was awful. I had to go for 3 fittings so that they would listen to me and actual alter the dress the way I wanted it. And then it still wasn't right!! It was a nightmare. It is really important to like the people who will be fitting your dress. The last thing you want to worry about that day is your dress not fitting right. If you know the dress, definitely look into other places that carry that designer. Helens Bridal in Commack is wonderful and they get a lot of designers. Chances are they can get yours. And they are amazing!

Thanks I will check helens out : ) I'm sure if the lady was so unattentive when she was trying to SELL a dress she won't be better after i order it.

Re: Question
There is a a bridal shop in East Northport that can get you any dress that you want and the women there are super nice. It's called Bridal Elegance and it's on Jericho Tpke. Give them the designer name and style number and they always give out great prices.

Re: Question
Shop around, I am sure that many other places have what you are looking for, and maybe even at a better price!
