question

i have heard many girls complain about the service at davids bridal. i love a dress on their website, but i don't know if i'm going to get it because of all the complaints, and if i'm going to have a lot of problems with them. if you had a problem could you please tell me what it was, and if you would recommend me going there.

Re: question

I haven't had a problem. I went to the one in Queens. I am picking my dress up, only not having alterations done there bc that is 1 thing people said not to do at DB. Otherwise, I haven't experienced anything. See for yourself!

Re: question

I have only been to the David's Bridal in MA, and I had an amazing experience, the staff were soo attentive! I think it also has to do with when you go. Maybe make an appointment during the week when no one else would normally be there. I would just go for it! I am also not having alterations done there, I haven't heard good things. But just go, you might not care if the consultant isn't up your butt the whole time. It might be an advantage! Good luck!

Re: question

I got my dress at David's and I didn't have a problem. I found the sales people very helpful and fun and the price of the dresses are an extra bonus : ).

I will not be getting my dress alterted there though because they could not do everything I wanted (cut the entire train off) so I'm using a local seamstress.

Good luck!!!

Re: question

I've heard its the one in LI that has less than stellar reviews..

my friend got her dress in Paramus NJ...and she said they were great

edited to say: Karen! I cut off my train too!! I was so happy that I did!!

Re: question

: ) I think the dress will look much better without the train...I'm not into lugging all that extra material around with me....First of all I'm clumsy and will probably get caught on it and trip and secondly my butt is big enough so I definately don't want a bustle!!!!

Re: question

I thought the David's Bridal in Carle Place was 'less than stellar'. The customer service was rude (they measured my [obese] friend in the front of the store, in front of other customers b/c the seamstress was in a rush to leave) and they refused to give us pricing on alterations (unless we were going to make an appt. to have the alterations done - which I think is pretty svcky).

Re: question

I bought my flowergirl dress from the one in Carle Place and I thought the salespeople were rude and very unhelpful. I was buying the dress of the rack, but it had a little dirt on it and they acted like I was crazy for asking them to pay for it to get cleaned or to give me discount on it. I finally was able to speak with the manager who did get the marks of the dress for me, but she was not very nice about it.

I got my dress, BMS dresses and FG dresses from Carle Place and never had any problems.

I do suggest if you go there, go during the week, it is much better!!!

Re: question

I think from reading posts from months ago I have only seen complaints about the Carle Place location. if youlike the dress, why dont you just go to another location aside from that one?

Re: question

I know 2 people who got their dresses from DB and they loved their dress but complained about the alterations. They said they werent done right and the day of the wedding spent a good percent of the time carrying their train over their arm because the bustle kept falling

My cousin who is a little large is in a wedding this year and she got her dress from DB and spent way over 220 dollars just on the dress and the woman was mean and rude to her (this is the DB in Brooklyn). She said when she was getting her measurements the woman kept making comments under her breath of how complicated its going to be to do because my cousin is big and so much work needs to be done to just have the dress fit right.

They also ordered the wrong size for her. They ordered the dress a few sizes too small and said it was my cousins fault not theirs.

She has had nothing but heart ache at the Brooklyn Davids Bridal.

Re: question

I do not recommend davids in Carle Place. I took in my girls to be measured etc for the BM gown and they went under new management and thru out the paper work becuase it was 1 month later!! The lady told me too bad, that is how new management works around here!!! I went to another store(NOT DAVIDS) and picked out new dresses. There loss, not mine, I refuse to get upset about it.PS They also told me and I quote-'Getting the dresses are the most stressful thing for the bride we do not care how much stress we put the bride under!'

OMG that is horrible.

I have heard so many bad things about the carl place one.

My cousin has been having problems with the one in Brooklyn and I just cant imagine why they would do the things they do. Dont they know word of mouth does the most damage.
