I have noticed that some of you have mentioned having an A & B guest list for your wedding? I am not sure I quite understand it... or how it works. Can someone explain it to me? I am thinking that the idea is, once you get regrets, you then start inviting guests off the b list? Is this right?

A list are people that you def. want at ur wedding....then when ppl say no they cant come from the A list...u can then invit ppl from ur B list...hence ur B list r ppl u want there, but can only invite if A list ppl bail. hope that makes sense.

I have 3 lists...
1.) the MUST'S
2.) the SHOULD'S
3.) the IT BE TO NICE TO'S
and also...
4.) the MOOPS.

I have a question though--does the 'B' list have a different RSVP date? What if you are sending them an invite 3 days before the RSVP? Or after? Do you print up new invites, or just assume they will know they got B listed?

Maybe, it's a good idea to get a few invites that have a later r.s.v.p. date. A friend of mine recieved a wedding invitation two weeks before the wedding.. she was annoyed at that and new she must have been on a 2nd or 3rd list.. she didn't go. she was actually a little hurt by it. I told her she would understand when she got married to help her feel better. It didn't work. She threw the invite away and didn't even respond.

I am having invites with 2 RSVP dates. one set for May 30 and another for June 25.

You could send out your A list invites early (like 3 months or a little more) and send your B-list invites out at 2 1/2 or 2 months before. You should be careful about having an A list and a B list though, people talk and if they figure out that they didn't get an invite during the first round - they'll know they are B listers and might be a little upset...oh the joys of wedding planning and working with THE LIST
