I'm going to a wedding tomorrow.. and I wanted to know.. if I was going to give a gift of $300.. is it dumb to give $318.. or is that nicer? FH is jewish and for our e-party we got a lot of gifts ending in 18.. he said it's supposed to be good luck..

Re: Question about a Jewish wedding
IMO think the 318 is a very nice gesture and they would appreciate the thought.

Re: Question about a Jewish wedding
I think that is very good gesture. In Jewish tradition 18 means 'khai' or 'life'. We got lots of those on our wedding!

I vote $318! I think it is a very generous gift no matter which you pick- but 18 is good luck right??

Re: Question about a Jewish wedding
Both are very generous but dont feel like you need to give multiples of 18 (like 72 or 36)....for weddings my friends and I give each other 'whole' numbers like 200 or 300

Re: Question about a Jewish wedding
I aways give a multiple of 18 and then write a little note with it. Usually say something about this is for good luck and good life.
