FH just got one last night. for being parked outside of a spot, it looked like a spot and was right next to a spot. this is at jones beach were we park for volleyball, the volleyball people told us just dont park on the grass cause they might ticket us then.. also the ticket said listed 'all other violations $15' but the $15 is crossed out and $45 is written in... is there anyway to get out of the ticket?

Re: question about a nonmoving ticket
were there any signs around where you parked?
Also, is there a reason written in on the ticket or a statute?

Re: question about a nonmoving ticket
If it was issued by State Park Police, just pay the money and walk away. They will show up in court to defend the ticket and they will win.
Sorry this happened Emily

That's up to you. I would rather pay it than waste my time but if you think that you have a chance then GO for it!

Re: question about a nonmoving ticket
ok... i looked again at the ticket.. its 'state park police'.... were starting to lean towards just paying it.. is there anything you lose by going against it? how do you know they show up? did that happen to you?

DO NOT IGNORE IT...... One of my best girlfriends got her liscence suspended a couple of years ago because she ignored it!!! Trust me it was a ROYAL PITA!!!! (pain in the @ss) I would personally try to fight it... You could call 1800-dialDMV and ask them questions... good luck!

Re: question about a nonmoving ticket
Matt takes his truck on the beach at Robert Moses all the time. He has a permit and the SPP are always over there handing out tickets. They don't care if you have PBA cards, badges, anything and they have more power than state troopers. We've been lucky so far but that could change.
