When do you tip the band...I always thought it was at the end of the night, and then someone told me, its consistently thru the nite so they continue to play well...

Re: Question about Band Tipping
I think that is the stupidist answer..tipping them thru the nite to continue to play well?! That should not be a concern for anyone, you or the band. I would hope any band would play to they're fullest the whole night thru, being that they are musicians and this is what they love to do..perform.
They should get they're tips at the end of the night along with the remaining balance..

Re: Question about Band Tipping
tipping consistently thru the nite sounds a little demeaning, kinda like throwing bones to a subservient dog...

Re: Question about Band Tipping
I had a similar question...but mine was...Do you tip at all? Then once I saw the poll results...is that my answer....do you even HAVE to tip the band??? Aren't we paying them enough?!

i know, i feel the same way, i don't know what i am going to do just yet...
i believe if you go through a management company, it is expected that one tips. if the band takes care of everything itself then there is no need to tip extra as it is included in the fee structure...
our band leader acts as the manager so i am inclined NOT to tip, however i have heard such mixed opinions that i still don't know what i am going to do...

Re: Question about Band Tipping
I will tip at the end of the night if they are good (which I KNOW they will be!!!)
Not for nothing but I think that person HAD to be pulling your chain - why tip them all night they are getting paid and IF you have to tip them all night there is SOMETHING wrong with them

Re: Question about Band Tipping
My parents don't think I need to tip the band at all. FH and I still haven't made any final decisions about tips, but I'm worried that we're going to spend a fortune on top of the fortune we've already spent!

Re: Question about Band Tipping
I don't know what to do about the tipping either...aside from the fact that they cost alot...that means tipping each member, I have 8, plus pay for their dinner. You can't give a cheap tip, but a decent one certainly adds up! I'm so confused....

Re: Question about Band Tipping
I was told this: if you booked the band through a company, you can tip. If the owner is in the band, you don't tip. I'm not tipping right now, may cvhange my mind at the wedding. I would just be prepared, in case.
