Has anyone ever heard that if your BM's order their dresses from different places that the colors of each dress may vary? Even if it is the exact same dress and color listed on the color chart? I went to TWC in Commack and the attendant told me that if my girls order the dresses from another location, the dress colors might be different and very noticeable. I thought it was strange, but thought I would get some feedback from you all. All of my bridesmaids aren't local so they might need to order the dress at a salon that is near them.

Re: Question about BM dresses
I haven't heard of this. How can the color be diff if they order the same style number, same color and from the same designer. This might have been a little trikcy-poo from the store to get you to buy all the dresses from them. Hmmmmmmmmm

Re: Question about BM dresses
It's true. Dresses ordered at different salons or at the same salon at different times come from a separate dye lot. The dresses may be 'off' but some are not even noticeable. In all honesty, I don't think it's VERY noticeable as you were told.

Yeah-- I think very noticeable was a stretch on their part. I guess I can try to have the girls send in their measurements and arrange a convenient time for them to have the dress altered. I just don't want to inconvenience anyone...

They're not pulling a fast one on you! It is true.
It has to do with the 'dye lot.' If the dresses aren't made from the same bolt of fabric, the shade of color of the fabric can definitely be different!
Most people handle OOT bridesmaids by having the girls get measured at a store local to them and then give the bride their measurements.

Re: Question about BM dresses
I've heard that too. I was told that all of my girls should put their order in at the same time, even if it was from the same store and company. They said that even the sheets of fabric can differ from one to the next. If you put the orders in together, you have a better chance that they'll all come from the same sheet of fabric and that they'll all be a perfect match.

Re: Question about BM dresses
Yes, I've heard that. It's because the fabric is dyed in lots. If you the fabric used for you dresses is cut from different dye lots the color may vary.
I ordered my BM dresses all from the same store, but orders were going to go out at different times because my BM's did not all come in at once. RK Bridal told me that they would hold my order until all of my BM's had come in for their measurements so that all the dresses would be made from the same lot, and I would not have any variations in the color.

Re: Question about BM dresses
I didn't want to chance the dye lots being too different so I collected all of my BMs measurements (4 of 5 are OOT) and placed the order myself through the RK Bridal no frills program (dresses were $32 less than at other bridal stores). When the dresses came in, I shipped them out to the girls and they all found seamstresses by their homes to do the alterations.

Yes, that can happen. When a salon places an order for dresses they all come from the same dye lot. If you order dresses from different salons the dye lots may be different, and the color may therefore be different between individual dresses.
